The food here was some of the best Khmer food we have had. Presentation was great, staff were helpful and friendly. Its a training restaurant, so some of the students occasionally needed a hand if we were asking anything complex, but that was totally understandable. The teachers were with us immediately if the students looked like they needed some support.... More

This was the best place to go to after just finishing a three week trip through Cambodia! We share the mushroom dip and prawn crackers for starter (was so filling!) and then I had the Vegetable Amok! For dessert we shared the crepes (incredible!) and some more cocktails and a pot of tea to round it off! Beautiful environment, incredibly... More

We have now been to 3 of the friends restaurants, 2 in PP and 1 in Vientiane. All have combined superb safe food delightful service and lovely surroundings. At the same time you are contributing to a really well run organisation helping train street kids to enable them make a better life for themselves and their families. There really isn't... More

This is an enjoyable restaurant with good food, ambience and wine list BUT we learned during our visit to Cambodia that the practice of eating tarantulas, which has spread to the tourist population largely because of this restaurant, has almost wiped out the tarantula population in the wild! They are now breeding them in captivity to keep up with the... More

Had a very tasty Pomelo and Chicken Salad. The service was great even though they were very busy. Strongly recommend booking as even though they were trying to cater to all who turned up, I saw quite a few turned away.

According to the special mission of this restaurant, "...you are not only choosing to have a wonderful culinary experience in beautiful surroundings, you are actually choosing to support a young person as they train to build a better future for themselves." This alone makes the Marum a must-visit. Surprisingly (or not), the food was excellent, creatively combined and nicely presented.... More

We went there for lunch after a hot day and were welcomed by very attentive staff in a very comfy atmosphere. My partner loved the coconut and lime smoothie, he said it was mild and refreshing. He also liked his pork belly and pickled cabbage dish. I ordered fish amok and it was good, just the way it should be.... More

Food was very good. All our dishes had the right balance of flavors and were perfectly cooked. Service staff were very charming, except for one very stern 'teacher.' Service was slow but the place was totally packed and bustling right up to closing time. Not cheap but this kind of modernized Cambodian cuisine is quite unique. An attractive colonial building.... Service was better than Friends and the restaurant was nice however some of the food was a little disappointing. The meal I chose was not available so went with some seafood - it was ok but not great.

Don't understand the fuss except for the cocktails, the food was not as fresh as I like, and mediocre would cover it..

Description
Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 10.30 Pm (kitchen closes 9.30Pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.

We would like to inform you that ROMDENG Restaurant will be closed for Khmer New Year and will reopen on the 6th of May 2014.
