Pretty much every guide you read for Baku recommends this restaurant and having now dined here I can only assume it’s paid for reviews. This was the first place we visited for a meal on a 4 night stay and we wrongly assumed it was...a reflection of cuisine in Azerbaijan. It wasn’t until we had been to other places that we realised this was just a poor place to dine that was clearly dining out on its location and a weirdly large number of stellar reviews in guides etc. The food was nearly twice the price of any other place we dined with half the portion sizes and overall just very poor quality of food. Interesting that they clearly spotted we were tourists a mile off, which was probably why we were the only table they brought over a platter of cling filmed salads to (without informing us the price of anything) as well as essentially ordering for us. Our fault for falling into the trap of not asking more questions from the beginning and not taking our time rather than being rushed from the get go. When the bill eventually came they claimed they didn’t take card (despite the numerous card stickers on their front door). Apparently their machine was broken and they could only accept cash, until they realised we had none, at which point they quickly produced a machine. Poor reflection of Azerbaijani food, poor taste of their culture and overall just a poor level of hospitality, they should really do better than scamming touristsMore
In this restaurant all waiters are rude they can not speak with guests normal. We came there ask table and i sow free table, i have a diplomatic company with me. They did not gave us table we was wait of table , after 15...min waiting they gave our table for another guest. And they was really really rude and disrespectful. I dont prefer anyone to go to there.More
Nice cozy place. No alcohol but food is really tasty. After you sit down they will bring loads of cold dishes for you to choose. We had three. The Russian salad is the best, I feel like I could have another one right away. Olives...are tasty too. Lentil soup comes quickly and very hot. Perfect for a chilly night. Lamb in wine sauce, very tasty and just about the right portion for two of us. Service is impeccable. They speak very good English too.More
Nice personal. Not pricy restaurant. Meals were tasty and prices were affordable and Especially mixed kebabs were great
Great place for Azerbaijani Food... Service was very cordial and fast..we had a mixed kebab plate prepared with Azerbaijani spices.. and the huge tandoor bread.. damn tasty..
This place has a good atmosphere and perfect location. Their food was nothing special for Baku. I liked the fresh bread they serve you from tandir. Waiter was good, but together with us he forgot to remind us that we ordered another dish and we...left. The prices for this place and food are super expensive.More
Seherli Tendir is located in the heart of the walled city of Baku. I went here for brunch. The waiter recommended the tendir bread with butter, honey and cream and their speciality scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Needless to say their food was amazing. At this...restaurant you can watch them make the tendir bread live in front of you. Order a pot of their local tea on the side to complete the experience. Loved the place, the food, the people and the ambiance. Take a walk around the old city once you’re done with your meal to soak in the old town.More
We had to queue for a while to get in on Saturday morning but it was well worth it. We could have had all the traditional cold foods but decided to try the eggs and tomatoes. So good we went back the next day to...have it again and try the eggs with greens. Of course we had cheese yogurt salad olives honey and so on as well.... The bread was made in the tandoor in the doorway and was hot and very tasty.More
Food served cold, when asked they argued. Very pricey for the service. Complete RIP off. As I spoke in english, they were very impolite and serving was in a very bad way. Quality was bad and preparation looked unhygienic. Please please avoid this place. So...the owners have a lesson.More
Breakfast is expensive, service is bad. But the tastes are good location is perfect. They are currently updating the restaurants lets see what happens.
Very good food asef and ajdar very good service and very good personality super super muper puper and
Very tasty gutabs (azerbaijani dough dish with different fillings) and nice and polite service. Took a while to prepare the dish, but only because it is freshly handmade. Vugar, our waiter, informed us just in case we wouldn't spare the time. So a big 5...star for the honesty.More
Best tea in Azerbaijan, and nice food. Nice oven bread and fabulous egg and sausage.. Ask for Ajdar.
Kutabs are really tasty here, plov and chicken shashlik too. I really recommend this place. That have a 10% tax. Nice place.
