The Refinery is in a beautiful location and building, service was actually very good and though we were a large table they did a pretty good job though there was obviously no system of recording who ordered what as dishes came out and the wait staff then tried the whole table to see who's food it was. My biggest problem... More

The Refinery use to be a nice place, I visited several times before. But last time the service was a total chaos. We got something totally different what we ordered, it was mixed up with an other table. Then we had to discuss few minutes to get our original order. Later it was not easy to catch a waiter and... We have been the night before to The Temple Club which was outstanding. We were hoping for a similar experience but it was just a big disappointment. We like the French Colonial style, which The Temple Club has in spades. This was watered down, and a bit contrived, like being in a Cafe Rouge. We sat for 10 minutes and... More

Really like inside decoration of this restaurant. Been there at Valentine's Day , it was busy and crowded but the food I've tried very good . We were not disappointed . It was just what we needed on our Valentine night. The staff were very professional and friendly. Especially is "Na" who is the assistant of the refinery. She always... More

The menu is quite limited and the food is ordinary. Don't feel "French" to me although the decor and service are ok.

Great food, well made cocktails, excellent service. Go there with an empty stomach, as portions are rather larger than typical French fine dining. It is more than enough for a couple to share a starter and take each a main. Better reserve a table. Very tasty, and rightly prepared salad and onion soup, and top "Frites & steak". Prices are... Warning!! If you are really hungry, this is a place to visit. Food is plentiful, with a huge range of crusines to chose from. Value for money, without a doubt.

Has a nice ambiance and a cool history (used to be an opium refinery back in the day), but it took way too long for our food to come out - waited at least 45 minutes. Food was good, including dessert, but really need to step up the service. Also, got eaten alive by mosquitos - they lit a mosquito... More

Inside this restaurant it is a little like an old fashioned brasserie in France, with elegant furnishings, quiet (no raucous music), bench seats and chairs, high ceiling etc. The food is good, although pity no wine can be served except by glass or bottle. However, the service is curiously disorganised or sporadic - difficult to catch their eye - or... More

Good food with nice ambience. Steak frites, pork chop with apple sauce were both very tasty. Viet iced coffee was the best we had during our trips to Viet! Definitely sit outside!

Description
Making great use of an unusual historic location, Saigon's old opium manufacture, The Refinery was built, designed and decorated locally with custom made furniture and lighting in the greatest Paris bistro tradition. Tucked away in a secluded courtyard, it boats a beautiful indoor seating area with many original features and a large front terrace with jasmine and greenery. Enough to make anyone forget the noise and madness of the city while sitting in the very heart of it.In this peaceful setting, one can enjoy modern European cuisine with an extensive wine list, including 18 Old and New World wines by the glass.
