Came here with a guide from HanoiKids and were hooked. Difficult to find down a little alleyway. Don't think we'd have found it if it wasn't for the guide but we searched and managed to find it again for another fix of egg coffee. Great little place with fabulous atmosphere. Was packed on the Sunday but quieter during the week.... More

Was referred to Giang by our guide, of course for the egg coffee, which fortunately turned out to rather be "meringue coffee" and delicious. Definitely worth the walk, "discovery" and introduction to something we've been making at home since (unfortunately not quite as successful & definitely not with the same nostalgia).

A small hidden place for the perfect cup of coffee. Tastes so good, like drinking creme brulee. Many foreigners and locals relax here, talk and catch up. They also have egg beer and egg chocolate. Will definitely try them next time.

Having been recommended this place during one of our 'Please can I practice my English with you?' chats by the lake we searched for the secret passageway... It felt like we were entering a secret local drug den, packed out with Hanoians (what is the collective noun?). After finally attracting someone's attention - our adviser told us to sit and... More

Go for the egg coffee, not the ambiance. It's like liquid tiramisu, seriously. I went there almost every day I was in Hanoi and always ordered at least two egg coffees, even though they are super strong. You won't regret trying it, and it's super cheap as well.

Stopped off here for a quick hot egg coffee. Thoroughly impressed! Sweet, thick, nice and strong! It is tucked away down a little alley however there is a sign above the entrance. If they did these back in the UK it would be amazing!

Only 25k for a delicious egg coffee! The egg topping was sweet and the espresso was strong. This place is the real deal. They also serve egg matcha and egg hot chocolate... I will have to go back!

Located down a long corridor, it's easy to miss. Definitely the best egg coffee and related variations. It's a bit messy, with poor hygiene in the preparation area and bathrooms, and seeds all over the floor. Thankfully they don't sell food. Good for a quick coffee stop.

Description
Giang Cafe was founded by My Father ,Mr. Nguyen Giang in 1946, when he was working as a bartender for the famous five-star Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi hotel. Although the cafe has been relocated twice, its egg coffee recipe is almost the same as in its early days, with its chief ingredients being chicken egg yolk, Vietnamese coffee powder, sweetened condensed milk, butter and cheese.
