Suddenly got a pang for some proper cod n chips and when we saw the menu both went for the halibut but unlucky for us they'ed sold out so large cod it was, and it was large and mushy peas, wallys and tartar sauce, fantastic food and lovely staff, if you get home sick get your Aris down here

Wow what a nice surprise the best fish and chips we've ever had and we used to live near Harry Ramsdens in leeds !!! Called in for takeaway and they recommended the cod . The portion size was huge and the fish amazing and they did a really good job with the batter. Great chips as well . Well done... More

Best fish & chips I ever had. Seriously. HUGE portions. We ordered one different type of fish each (one tilapia, one cod, one... I don't remember) the menu indicate either 150g or 200g but they are really huge. 2 portions for 3 are absolutely enough. The French fries are beyond delicious, homemade, yum. You can have mash potatoes instead too... More

Deciding that I needed to eat some fish on this trip, we popped into Jolly Friar again. Previous comments are noted about the dory but I ordered it and enjoyed it, dory or not. My girlfirend enjoyed her Thai salad dish with glass noodles and mince accompanied by a pineapple smoothie. We are repeating customers and will always continue to... More

Irresistible over several visits to Pattaya. The "Dory" is not John Dory/St.Pierre but a cheap farmed river fish, hence the price. The medium cod at 160bht is massive and enough for a mediumbig appetite.

It’s been a few years since I was last here in Pattaya and I was very happy to see The Jolly Friar was still around when I stopped by yesterday. I love the fish & chips there. They have a variety of fish, but my favorite is the dory (with breadcrumbs instead of the heavy batter), thick cut chips and... More

Ordered cod and chips , battered sausage and mushy peas. Reasonably priced , came with tartar sauce, tomato sauce. Delivered by door to door service. Chips were hand cut and delicious.

Ordered the large cod and chips. 295b not cheap. Cod portion size very good but the fish was dried out inside. Dont know if it had sat in the freezer for a long time. I guess it comes from horeca. Batter was perfect. Fries were plentiful but not fantastic. Overly brown and undercooked. I suspect the owner is a farang... More
