it used to be the khao soi restaurant that everyone talked about when in chiangmai. unfortunately, those days are gone. the khao soi that i had was too sweet and salty. it came with 2 tiny pieces of chicken that were not as tender as they should have been. it is not delicious at all. the satay pork were hard... Despite being one of the most recommended khao soi places in Chiang Mai, it is also extremely dirty. So dirty to the point that our team almost puked on the spot due to something that smelled like crashed sewage truck in the back, and we got severe diarrhea problem from the khao soi itself. The taste itself is average. The... More

For fans of Khao Soi. This is another local favourite. As I have said in my previous reviews, food is subjective, so there's no absolute best. Try and tell the differences between shops. Use GPS to find place and avoid lunch time crowd. Yum, yum...enjoy!!!

I'm a big lover of Khao Soi. So after reading the rave reviews, I found here, I just had to try this place. Well I really don't know what all the fuss is about. It seems to me that this eatery is average at best. The Khao Soi was a bit too spicy, the pickles were stale and the chicken... More

A bit of the way out of town but definitely worth it. Mainly locals savouring both local and national Thai dishes. The Khao Soi with chicken was very good. They brought me some other dishes which I don't know their names and I think need a few goes at before acquiring the taste! Only a couple of tourists at this... More

I'm a bit obsessed with Khao Soi and have tried most of the places people recommend (Kun Yai, Islam, Lamduan, etc) and my favorite is Samer Jai. It's definitely a personal preference, but I like the flavor and richness of the broth a slight bit more. Also have had the khanom jeen naam ngiew (I prefer the Khao Soi) and... More

If you want to taste food from Northern Thailand, Samer Jai is the best choice. Not that close to the city centre, makes that there are no tourists. You need to know this place to find it. Red-truck drivers know this place. It's a place for local people, reasonable prices, good food. Just order Khao Soi. We were the only... More

After reading many reviews, we luckily ended up at the Khao Soi Samer Jai because it was probably the only one open up to 5pm. We came here at 4:30pm after a trip to Wat Doi Suthep. We were scrambling to find a good reviewed Khao Soi restaurant that would be open past 4:00pm. The other Khao Soi Lam Duan... More

khao soi is ones specialty in the northern part of Thailand. This shop has a nice and tasty khao soi. Their other dishes also quite good and it's not pricey.
