Friendly staff and atmosphere. Great food only found by walking past and seeing football on wide screen well worth a visit.

The food was really good and so was the service. They have a great selection of beers and they were very accommodating. Not all restaurants you wander in to end up being worthwhile but The Red Lion is definitely worth the visit.
Being one of the longest running restaurants in Chiangmai says it all. Consistently good food, good portions and good service. A plessant location for a meal or just people watching with a cold beer.
Located very close to the night market, food corner and Hard Rock Cafe this small pub offers food of all kind and nations ;-) and drinks as well. nice place in case you don't want to sit in the food corner
Good location. And good selection of fairly priced Belgian, German and British beers, as well as a decent selection of ciders. I had a Weihenstephaner (200b). I also ordered a wienerschnitzel. Well, it was technically a pork schnitzel vienna style (as an original wienerschnitzel would...More
We met relatives here for an early drink - the draught Heineken was spot on. There was a good atmosphere and the staff were very cheerful. Within 30 minutes we vacated our table for a group of 4 who wanted to eat. It was packed...More
This lively bar across nearby the Duangtawan may seem like a lively place to hang out, but beware. The food may look appetizing on the menus, but when I had a bite of the fish and chips, the dish was so greasy and fatty. Since...More
Thanks for the feedback. The majority of responses about our fish n chips are very positive but for one reason or another I nonetheless accept that it may not always be perfect. For that reason we have a policy of either replacing food that does...More
Enticed by a good menu so stopped for a few beers and lunch with a change from what has been mostly Thai food so far. Given the name of the place and food selection, was surprised when staff battled with English. Was initially patient and...More
Thanks for your comments. One of the guys in the daytime has some problems with English but certainly shouldn't be making out that he understands if he doesn't, so something for me to look into, as well as the general people skills of the daytime...More
Lovely meal, good straightforward ‘pub grub’, Guinness well kept and very reasonably priced! BUT best of all wine measures “‘the best we’ve had in Thailand” so says the better half. Highly recommend when you’ve had enough Asian food and want a little bit of comfort...More
It hasn't changed over the years - still well-run, with good staff, good food, music and football on up to 3 screens. "If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it" is an old saying, and it applies very well to the Red Lion. If...More
