We had lunch at this restaurant with great food, prices and view. From the Grand Palace you head down a side street toward the river. It may not look promising until you get there, but there is a great outdoor patio right on the water with a view across the way to the Dawn Temple.

We decided to go to this restaurant after to check the TripAdvisor reviews and that we found was really disappointed. The place was empty, only one table with a family but they were with the dessert (we arrive around 21:30). The waiter gave us a table but not in the best mood. We asked for not spicy dishes because one... More

We stopped having a lunch and cool drink after visiting Wat Pho. The food was amazing, very delicate. I had pineapple fried rice. Mushroom salad was beautiful, good mixture of the tastes. Prawn with fried garlic was nice, too. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff.

There is a restaurant on the first/second floor and a bar on the forth floor. We went for dinner in the restaurant. At first the service was excellent and very friendly (we were also quite early and not too many other people were around). When the other guests started coming, the service got worse. And not just because there were... More

Great view and great food, Thai and international cuisine. And it's really near the Reclined Buda Temple and Grand Palace.

If you can find it definitely worth a visit. We got into 4 different taxis, and 2 tuk tuks and no one knew how to get here. I finally talked the last driver into just dropping us off near wat pho (reclining buddha) and we walked to the restaurant. The views of the river are beautiful.

We enjoyed our visit at the deck, because of the very nice view and the delicious food. The staff was friendly and always laughing and joking with us.

This place was recommended to us. While we were stuck in traffic I called the restaurant to let them know that we might be late. I cannot speak Thai and got the male/female pronunciation wrong and the staff was laughing his head off on the phone. The food was ok but not amazing good that you have to track to... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
