First time to Bangkok, went to China Town Scalia Shark Fins Restaurant based on good review. It's very disappointed, $2000 Baht for suckling pig which was chewy and not crispy at all. Fish, vegetable were average. Will not recommended to any of my friend.

Good food. Waiter can speak fluent Mandarin which is important for a Chinese restaurant. We ordered the suckling pig, braised crab with glass noodles, cashew nuts chicken and stir fried asparagus with prawns. The suckling pig is good, right proportion of meat to fat. It is served with regular white bread, instead of the usual mantao (chinese buns). The braised... More

This restaurant is actually two restaurants, which one stays open late at night. It was in the second one that I have eaten. It was 11pm and my wife and me did not want to eat in Yaowarat's night market but in a restaurant. It happened that the Chinatown Scala was the last restaurant open so we went there. As... More

We went to Chinatown area wanting to dine/eat fresh sea crab, something which is getting more and more difficult to do in bangkok. Either you have to go to the large Seafood Market type Restaurants which mostly cater to tourists or five star hotels, where you are also now more Likely to find Alaska king crab! At China town Scala... More

The quality and service is terrible and well overpriced. The place seems old, slightly dirty and the attitude of the staff is the opposite to service orientated Highly recommend that you avoid this place at all costs

This was our first meal upon arriving in Chinatown, Bangkok. We sampled several things and enjoyed them all. Try the stir fried morning glory. The prices on the street are cheaper, but it was reasonable for a restaurant if you're looking to sit down somewhere.

This is a well known Chinese restaurant in Bangkok. Delicious foods especially sharks fin soup. The pricing a bit expensive but worth it. They will standby a staff nearby your table to refill your tea and clean up your finished meal. Good service. Recommended!!!

We stopped here of curiosity. We noticed a sign that the restaurant offers Sharks fin soup which is the best in Bangkok since 1951. To our happiness, we have not regretted. In addition to soup ordered few more dishes that we liked. Most importantly - there was the so-called "Chinese restaurant syndrome". It means, that in cooking were not used... More

Given the level of competition for food in Thailand, this one did not live up to it's grand appearance and premium pricing. The staff hovered over us most of the evening but still seemed not to be there whenever we actually wanted anything. The food was just OK but you can get far better, a lot cheaper, elsewhere.

Gorgeous food. We had the duck, morning glory and crab meat fried rice. Beautiful. Better than any Chinese you can get in London Chinatown. Will go back again for the same. Yum.
