We stayed at the Grand China Hotel for two nights. As we just came from a long international flight and had finally checked in to our rooms, we were really hungry and didn't want to fuss searching for a place, so we went to the chinese restaurant located in the hotel (Siang Ping Loh). The atmosphere of the restaurant is... More

I had dinner here with the family few years ago as people said about the tasty Chinese cuisine, but we were disappointed at that time with the taste and atmosphere. I was here again on early July with friends. It seems that it is renovated and I feel comfy with the atmosphere. We ordered a set menu, it was the... More

Not cheap but not expensive for dimsum here. Enjoyable too. The ambient was not overwhelming. Could be one of the choices for hanging out with good old friends.

I came here with my big group of friends, almost 80 pp. the place is very convenient for big group, family, business, and event or couple. We order set menu. Quantity & quality of food is very valuable when compare with price. My favourite menus are dim sums and Beijing duck.

Found on the 8th floor of the easy to find Grand China Princess Hotel, there are certainly much cheaper places to get good Chinese food. But after shopping in the hot sun in crowded Bangkok Chinatown, it is nice to have good food in a cool and pleasant environment. We had the much talked about Peking duck. It took quite... More

Went there looking for the internet recommended best peking duck in Bangkok. Surprisingly disappointed! Duck skin is dry and no taste. A price of 1500 B is not worth a try.

We only had Dim Sums there, we did not order any thing from the main menu. The Dim Sums are very nice. We had ordered 7 dishes (a roast duck rice rolls, a roast pork rice roll, pork dumplings, custard buns, a fishy thing, deep fried fruit salad [which had surimi in it] and a deep fried taro dish) between... Hello, We were looking for a best peking duck dish in Bangkok. We found the good rate for this restaurant on the internet. This is overrated. I do not recommend the restaurant Siang Ping Loh for the Peking duck dish. Normally, the cooked Peking Duck is traditionally carved in front of the diners and served in at least 2 stages.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
