There are three places on Thonglor that I rotate in and out of, and this is one of them. SFM is the glitziest of the three, but have never had a bad meal here, everything I tried I liked. Usually here for lunch, love the khao soi. If you're looking for a "nicer" venue with authentic BKK food, this is... More

My group of 6 friends were taken here by a friend who recently moved to Thailand and the food was unbelievable. It was like the chef figured out how to perfect all the major Thai dishes with a bit of a modern twist. The Eggplant Salad and Duck Eggs are must!

I really wanted to love this place, considering the glowing review/suggestion I got from a friend of mine. The thing is it was pretty much OK and nothing more. Thailand is a tough place to stick out, and unfortunately this place doesn't. I would say that its biggest draw is the look and feel of the place. It's much more... More

Had dinner at Soul Food and it was good but couldn't say it was memorable. Massaman curry was good but the meat was very greasy. Same goes for the fried chicken with red curry. Cocktails are around 200-250 Baht, same is wine. For 1 cocktail, 2 mains and a salad we paid 1200 Baht which is very high for the... More

So amazing we went here twice in one week! Two of my absolute favorites were Yom Hua Plee (banana leaf salad, recommended) and fried chicken and coconut waffle with red curry! Add some soul punch for another layer of great flavor and uniqueness. Also worth noting was Southern Thai Samosas and Fish in a Leaf, seabass stuffed with lemon grass... More

No reservations so we were seated at the bar on the second floor. It's actually just stools facing a wall. Not a bar. Ac doesn't really reach here as much as the main room so took awhile to cool down after the walk to the restaurant. Tried the ribs, pad thai, and fried chicken on waffle. Chicken and ribs were... If you never tried the Khao Soi in this place, you have to do it immediately! I ate this delicious dish in the beef version and now is one of my favourite food in Bangkok. Hard to believe I drank a well-made Negroni! The staff are gentle and smiling. The place is little small and noise but ok.

I found this restaurant by looking online for restaurants in this area. Not a large restaurant but very pleasant surroundings, possibly difficult to find. The Thai/Western menu was a little restricted but everything on it looked special. The food was not a disappointment, excellent fayre followed by cocktails made for a lovely evening. Also excellent staff. Will definitely go again... More

By far, one of the best cafe/bistro I have eaten with local food. Owned by an American but run by locals The Massamam Lamb Curry, Spicy Fired Chicken with Waffle, Tamarind Spare Ribs was one of my choices Price is reasonable.

This has been a staple in Bangkok but sadly last time the food was not up to scratch. Happy to say the meal we ate was back to being fantastic.

Staying in Thong Lor & Ekamai

Neighbourhood Profile
Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.
