I hosted a business lunch there for a small group, we came there without reservations, I think her name is Pim, she was a head or manager at the place. She was great to cater to us during the lunch. She asked what we like and suggested many dishes for our group. Food was a bit slow but i understand... More

I have ate here many many times and the food was always excellent. However they have had a makeover to the decor and also the menu, the Menu now caters for the Eastern Client....alas I'm western. I will miss my trips here.

Good food and great dining experience. We were offered free shuttle service (in tuk-tuk) to the nearby sky-train station after the meal. The only improvement we would suggest is to add at least one more receptionist to the greeting area of the restaurant. As we need to wait for more than 15 minutes for return of the only one receptionist... More

Went to Shang Palace a bit last minute but we're impressed with the very friendly service. The food was ok being a mix of very good & some dishes where the meat was not as tender as it could have been. Not too pricey bearing in mind it is housed in the Shangrila La. Better than average.

This is a good hotel restaurant. The food is delicious, but it could have been a bit hotter (temperature wise, although it was well cooked). A few minor adjustments could help - for example, remove the lunchtime dim sum menu in the evening, provide a drinks menu on arrival, a better menu (it is massive in size and difficult to... More

For sure it is worse to have at least one time a dim sum lunch at this restaurant insid the Shangri La Hotel. Even quite reasonable in pricing if you take into account it is in a 5star hotel. Unfortunately they only serve it for lunch.

A stunning room, excellent service, incredible Peking duck expertly cut at table, (very crispy skin with no meat), thin crepes), 2nd course of minced duck in lettuce leaf was also excellent. It's expensive for Thai standards, but it was worth the money. The Shangra-la hotel is beautiful and the flowers in the lobby are incredible.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
