The food here was great and cheap even though it's right next to a big tourist attraction. I ordered a green curry and my sister ordered fried rice with chicken. Both were great and my curry wasn't too spicy at all. The customer service there could be better though. The waitress was on her phone the whole time even when... More

Started pouring rain so we slipped into this little cafe and it did not disappoint! Fried spring rolls were very very good, sparkling water was outstanding and they have free internet, perfect!

Had not planned on stopping for lunch but a plate of steaming sweet and sour chicken came out as we walked by , the recipient confirmed the food is excellent there and that's how we discovered this place it was a really delicious meal personally I thought it was the best and last lunch in Bangkok as our holiday ended... We visited the Rub Aroon today for lunch. It was a random visit as the heavens were about to open so we ducked inside.. The decor was nice, very Western and the place was full of Westerners, not really surprising as it's right next to the reclining Buddha temple. I had (something similar to) a Thai green curry and my... More

Right on the doorstep of the Tha Tien pier and near Wat Pho massage, this is a beacon of breath air after a long day doing the cultural sights around Wat Pho. Open-fronted converted shopfront with hand-made recycled palette furniture with cushions, easy Thai menu and wifi, what's not to like?

Try the fruit shakes in this nice little bar. Watermelon, mango and coconut shakes are great when you're thirsty. Well maintained interior with old cabinet and items from the past on display.

Came here as children hot and tired. A very humid day. Unlike previous posts we found the service to be friendly and efficient with the staff smiling. Had simple Western food with lots of soft drinks which came to a respectable bill. Great location opposite the Grand Palace.

Came here for the 2nd time after 6 years...I think the layout of restaurant not changed.. taste quite OK, although many better options in Bangkok, but having lunch here is a good option before or after visiting Wat Pho...

In front of Wat Pho, this is a little restaurante/bar that serves tasty Thai food. Prices are around 100-140baths for a plate and water is just 20baths. The service was fast and the space is friendly and comfortable to recharge batteries. Recommended :)

Thank Maria S

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
