This open air restaurant (there are fans everywhere that might prevent you from sweating) has a very pleasant atmosphere, however, it feels like a touristy eatery. The Thai dishes are far from original, well adjusted to suit Westerners' taste. The staff are friendly and knowledgable, however overstretched as it gets rather busy. Is it telling that not a single local... More

Expected to have a lovely meal after being recommended by the Peninsula, turned out to be disgusting. The service was abysmal. Not a smile on anyone nes face despite the "land of Smiles". The fish was thick with a gloopy sauce . I was unable to eat it. The first meal I have ever refused to eat.

We have visited before on previous trips to Bangkok but I have to say the current cheap is really good. We had six different dishes ( you can order small or large of the same dish which is really nice ) and all of them were excellent. Served piping hot and with a smile. Price was very reasonable my only... More

Our Harmonique was one of the best while in Bangkok, rivaled only by Thip Samai (the place for the best Pad Thai in Bangkok). The Pad Thai here was almost as good, and every other dish was a winner. The atmosphere was comfortable and felt worthy of a visit without being touristy. The prices were also affordable...they were 'western' prices... More

We have eaten here several times on previous visits to Bangkok several years ago. The restaurant is obviously still in the same excellent setting ie old chinese house and garden. My wife and I both ordered different meals from the set menus for 1. My wife's meal came as ordered whilst mine was different from the set menu I ordered,... More

While on a guided day trip we asked for a restaurant recommendation near the Shangri La and Harmonique was suggested. It is fair to say you would not stumble on the restaurant as it is up a rather unwelcoming alley but the restaurant was very good. Harmonique is a small restaurant and we were seated outside in a small internal... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
