We’ve been @ this restaurant several times after I reviewed it in November 2012 and December 2014. And tonight on February 26, 2017, the place was still packed with a long waiting line. The XiaoLongBao (小籠湯包, $4.90) was juicy and tasty. It’s hot but not going to burn your tongue. Pan-Fried Dumpling (三鮮鍋貼, $5.30) was yummy as usual. We also... More

The Xiao Long Bao (XLB) is delicious! This place gets crowded fast but you also get a table relatively fast. The line is not as ridiculous as Ding Tai Fung but their XLBs are definitely up to par! The best time to be there for dinner is before six to avoid waiting in line. We also tried the carrot cake,... More

I literally stumbled on this place and it was stunning food. Very laid back almost cafeteria style atmosphere at 3:30 on a Wednesday. I had the pork dim sum and some shrimp dim sum and custard buns. Everything was Beautiful! Going back Friday night after my meetings.

We stumbled into this place on accident, very hungry coming off a long flight. Everything was fresh and delicious and not a single person spoke English which was just fine.

I had visited the dumpling restaurant for more than 10 years, since they are a small roadside easy shop. The major soup dumpling is good, and also the chicken soup. And the others meal, I think it's just so so, based on their price. The soup of the dumpling squirts out upon biting the dumpling.

We had lunch here after visiting the CKS Memorial across the road. Run by some young managers, it tries to create a quaint atmosphere with low stools and tables and decor and you will need to share a table if you are not part of a large group. There is an English menu, but the ordering form is in Mandarin.... More

I see a number of comparisons here to Din Tai Fung, and I would say stop right there with the comparisons. This is is different restaurant and enjoy it for the experience. The food was very good and as others have mentioned it is close by to the Chang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. We were ready for Lunch and the... More

"Soup" inside xiaolongbao is lacking, wrapper was a bit thick and chewy, no black vinegar. They have free house tea.

I was referred here by a local saying this is better than Din Tai Fung. The Xiaolong bao filling was good but the flour skin is a bit thick for me. They also have many variety of dumplings. The shrimp shaomai was good but again, the skin is a bit thick. The fried beef wrap was my favorite on their... More

We tried both DTF and this place, the wrapper of the dumplings were a little thicker here. But the crab roe soup was amazing. Price wise this is lower and no long line. It's a good alternative if you are visiting in the area.

Description
Hang Zhou Dumpling House was named after its location on Hangzhou S Road. Founded by two brothers surnamed Huang who grew up in the Huaguang Community, the restaurant has remained a family-run business by the Huang brothers and their 80-year-old grandmother.Having dedicated their careers in the restaurant industry, the Huang brothers learned to make noodle dishes 40 years ago from the well-known Shanghai 369 Dim Sum House with an aim to expand the menu at their BBQ bar. The quality of xiaolongbao and other noodle dishes at HangZhou Dumpling House earned rave reviews from customers. The Huang brothers soon turned the BBQ bar into a dumpling house that specialize noodle dishes. Growing up in the old Huaguang Community, home to government veterans, the Huang brothers strive to offer gourmet cuisine at reasonable price that everyone can afford. The restaurant is able to maintain top quality of all dishes while keeping the price down thanks to Grandma Huang, who visits local markets every week and carefully selects fresh ingredients. The insistence on affordable gourmet food maintains the popularity of the restaurant, and its signature dishes, such as the juicy xiaolongbao, crispy shrimp and pork pot stickers, and sweet steamed clams with green squash, keep customers coming back for more.
