Le Pillier offers a great people-watching and dining scene. I've eaten there several times and the food is quite good, but not particularly memorable. We enjoyed the lamb tagine and the steak au poivre. The menu has limited healthy / gluten-free vegetarian options (surprising given the availability of ingredients) though there are a la carte vegetarian side dishes such as... More

It is a very neat and clean restaurant where you can go either with your family or with your friends. The fish "capitain" with white sauce is very delicious. The greek salade is made up of fresh vegetables. The owner of the restaurant is an Italian gentleman who follows the tables always.

Over a period of three weeks my colleagues and I went to Le Pilier four times, second only to Côté Jardin. Overall it's a very good restaurant, especially for Niamey, and I never once had a bad meal there. The menu is varied; it's ostensibly an Italian restaurant, but with lots of other choices, to include a North African flair... More

Le Pilier is a safe bet to get ok food - sometimes above average even. But it is not that special and quality is not by a long shot matching the scary prices. Service is weirdly impersonal and they don't manage to synchronize to get food out for the whole company... Dishes are a bit uninspired and plain - no... More

I took my boss to Le Pilier to discuss some things about work and we both enjoyed the dining experience. There was a woman and man duet of guitar and keyboard playing if I recall. The steak aux amandes was delicious and cooked the way I ordered it. The place is clean, has fantastic security and a great wait staff.... More

This is a pleasant place to eat! Not mind-blowing but well prepared Italian-style food. The interior is cozy and pleasant and you don't really feel like you're in dusty grubby Niamey... A bit spendy, but still one of the better places in the city!
