I was lucky enough to learn about this restaurant on Friday, which is the day they prepare cous cous with chicken and vegetables. It was delicious and the portion was so big I couldn't even finish. Everything was cooked beautifully. The service was good and prompt. It cost under US$10. The restaurant is a little tricky to find but ask... More

Spent a walking day in Tangier and were lucky enough to be guided to this location for a delicious meal. This organization supports women as they develop marketable skills ... the beautifully prepared tagine and other dishes were well worth the visit. I would go back if I had the chance!

This restaurant is run by the Association DARNA, a local community support organisation and is located just outside the Medina next to Place du 9 Avril 1947. The restaurant is light, airy and relaxed and was full of locals on the day. Service was friendly and efficient. The menu was fixed for the day and consisted of a choice of... More

A must do in Tangiers. Very good food, very good prices. But knowing you are helping a cause makes it feel even better.

Lovely atmosphere, amazing lemon pie, darling staff. Also nice to shop and know the money is going to a good cause. Great escape from the bustle of 9 April square.

DARNA supports local women in need. In addition, there is a small shop with interesting items made by local women, a restaurant with a lovely courtyard and very good food. A welcome respite from the bustle of the souq.

We have now been many times and all their dishes have been excellent. However I love their couscous on Fridays. Their lemon meringue pie and chocolate cake are worth the visit.

I had lunch on Saturday. they have one meal a day. the food was excellent and the price very reasonable. Make sure you get the lemon pie for dessert, it's time die for. They also have a shop there as well. Well worth going there.

Darna is a casual place for lunch that provides one "menu of the day" to everyone. It's usually a basic appetizer like beans and bread and a simple tagine dish for the main course. Everything is decently tasty but they're not attempting to provide amazing food. This is just a laid back lunch spot with a common local atmosphere. There... More

Darna is a charitable foundation proving shelter and training for women and children. The cafe is run as part of their training programme, with the women doing the cooking and the older boys doing the serving. Lunch is served 12.00- 15.00 in a very pleasant courtyard. There isn't any choice: you get what they are cooking that day. And it's... More
