This hole in the wall in Tangier specializes in fresh fish… and they absolutely nail it. Their open hour is actually 1pm and now noon like apple maps says so show up right at 1 for the most delicious pre-fix 4 course lunch in Tangier....You start with a fish soup that’s broth brought me back to life after traveling, then go into a sizzling plate of chopped fish and greens, and right when you’re beginning to love this place - they bring a whole fish to your table - it rotates with what was caught that morning so could be a John Dory like we had or could be another fresh whole white fish - and they serve it with a side of shark kabobs that are more tender than any kabob you’ve ever had - for the final course they bring you fresh berries tossed in honey - it really is the best fish you’ll have in Tangier. It’s 250dh per person so 25 usd and my biggest piece of advice is to take your time. Enjoy every bite, Enjoy the atmosphere, and enjoy yourself because you will be thinking about this lunch for weeks to come.More

HAD to stop by and try this famous restaurant that every Tangier visitor talks about. Was not disappointed. The menu (250 MAD) included everything, from appetisers to desserts. The fish was fresh and tasty. Didn't like the facts that we had to wait at least...30 minutes to get inside, but would 100% recommend.More

You ABSOLUTE must visit and eat at this stunningly delicious restaurant! It serves up a delicious set menu that was one of the best we had on our entire trip. We started off with delicious olives, a hot sauce and warm bread and amazing freshly...squeezed strawberry juice (I've never had strawberry juice like it)! Then on to a richly flavorful fish soup, then a calamari and fish sautéed with greens and then three stunningly velvety grilled fishes with herbs! To top it off we got fresh strawberries drizzled with honey and a bowl of nuts and bulger with honey - an absolutely STUNNING Meal! The restaurant is packed and bustling with many families, lots of locals and really friendly chefs and team who run it! I can't wait to go back. When you are in the city - you absolutely must must go!More

This place was spectacular. The moment you enter the little building, you are welcome with a cozy room decorated with pottery and beautiful paintings. It had so much character and you immediately felt like a local! When you sit down, you get a view of...the kitchen and get to see where all the magic happens. The first course was an array of delicious appetizers: bread, olives, a lovely sauce, and a medley of nuts. They also serve you a homemade juice that was to die for. The second course was a delicious fish soup, followed by a heavenly seafood platter, and the main course consisted of three different types of fish cooked to perfection. To top it off, we got dessert at the end--fresh berries and the second dessert dish was a granola dish with fresh honey on top (I wish I remembered the name because I still think of it). The staff was friendly, professional, and efficient. The plate settings and utensils gave this place a cozy feel. If you look close, you will realize there is so much thought and love that went into making this place. There is a little bit of a wait outside the building because the restaurant is small and can only fit a small number of people at a time, but the wait is totally worth it. You will never regret it! And once you are on your table, the service is spectacular and the food is divine. You have to visit this place whenever you are in Tangier!More

Most of the dishes were tasteless. The experience rather boring. Plenty of food, but that’s it… The fruit juice they serve is rather nice, though.

This place opens at 1pm for lunch and immediately, all the tables were taken up. It offers a standard menu at MAD250 per person. There is no need to order. Just sit down, and food will be served according to the number of pax. Price...includes fruit punch, fish soup, an entree of spinach, fish and octopus, a huge plate of grilled fish (sea bass, sole, and Saint Pierre), fruits and warm nuts/museli/honey mix. Price seems a tad higher compared to lunch options and there is no variety. It was no issue for us as we were looking forward to fish after meals of lamb and beef. All the food items were delicious and it was a good dining experience.More

We had a delicious dinner at this restaurant on our first day in Tangier. Staff were warm and friendly. We were fortunate there was not a long wait for a table. This place is authentic. No fancy plates, silverware, or tablecloths. The dining area is...tight. The food was what we came here for. And that was simply amazing. There was no menu. All dishes are fish/seafood. They serve 3 courses plus dessert. Fresh made mixed fruit juice came with the meal. Each dish was served piping hot straight from the kitchen. The fish were fresh, sweet, and tasty. Our favorite was the grilled fish. The service was excellent. Timing between courses was just right. Staff were attentive. The restaurant is cash only. A memorable authentic meal!More

My husband and I were in Tangier in the Fall of 1999. We were looking for a meal and stumbled upon Le Saveur du Poisson, a small, hidden away restaurant we hadn’t heard about. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a charming...man who gazed into my eyes, clasped my hands and declared “ I am Popeye, you are my Olive Oyl…” I was enchanted but the feeling waned when he handed each of us a glass of murky brown watery stuff and insisted we drink it “to help with digestion”. Warily, we did so. We were shown to our table expecting to be handed menus Instead, course after course of absolutely delicious food began arriving. Nuts, honey, raisins, flat bread, a grilled, whole phrophet fish and a melon for desert. After the meal, Popeye took my arm and led me to a back storeroom where he presented me with a woven fan, a small basket with handles and two sets of wooden utensils. He walked me back to our table (to the relief of my husband) and we paid the extremely inexpensive bill and returned to our hotel (Hotel Continental, another adventure). . I have wanted to return for many years but am unable to do so. These recent reviews are better sweet for me. Sad that Popeye is no longer with us but happy that the restaurant has retained its wonderful food and ambience. GO THERE…you will certainly have a memorable and delicious experience!More

To be clear, you would only visit this restaurant if you like fish 😊 It's simply presented fare. A set menu of four courses for 200 DH per head. First course bread, olives and a great pepper dip. Second a tagine of fish with great...crushed green herbs. Quality of fish excellent. The main fish course beautifully charred on grill. Topped off with fresh fruit. In our case strawberries which matched the standard drink of the night a kind of strawberry smooth if a bit more diluted. This isnt fine dining but good din7ng and can tell its popularity preceeds it with many nationalities there last night enjoying this unique dining experience. They keep it simple and do it well. Definitely worth a visit.More

I haven’t done dinner there. It’s true sometimes there is a bit of wait at lunch time but nothing we can’t manage. Worst case you could visit around (the souk) waiting for a table to be available
