Gorgeous setting, delicious menu offering a few different dishes - I recommend the very fragrant ginger chicken and the melt in the mouth beef tanjia. Lovely service too by friendly, attentive & efficient staff. Don't leave Marrakech without visiting this gem!

Very nice place, good local food, very good service. It is hard to find though. Ask around for directions. A bit pricey for Morocco standards but worth the try.

This place gives the country and it's entire culture a terrific name. I'm so tiered of seeing places owned by non Moroccan people that have destroyed the authenticity. If you want to be apart of real Moroccan culture and understand the history of this beautiful city this is the ONLY place to go. Seriously Beautiful, and seriously the best, and... More

Really difficult to find this place in the small streets of Medina, even you have a map with you. We just took a coffee and a tea, but the place it's really nice and you can relax here seating and drinking something in a wonderful atmosphere.

I just loved Dar Cherifa, I would like to say that the food was really good. I love healthy salads with moroccan twists. I would comeback here every time I am in Marrakech.

Eating amazing authentic food in a 16TH Century beautiful riad, is something very rare to find. Dar Cherifa was a combination of delicate food and astonishing architecture. It's a MUST see if you ever visit Marrakech. The people who work here are very friendly and always helping when you need something. Totally worth it.

Undeniably this is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to in terms of the interior. However the food we were served was far below average. I had some incredible tagines during my visit to Marrakech but the lamb tagine I ate here was bland and the meat was burnt and very tough. Our table began to give way... More

While you will need GPS, extra time, and luck to find Dar Cherifa, once you are through the front door you will marvel. Set in a luxurious, centuries-old riad, Dar Cherifa serves up both atmosphere and gourmet Moroccan cuisine. Call ahead to make a booking. Then sit back and enjoy. Not to be missed. this building is stunning and the perfect setting for a romantic and intimate meal. the food and service are exemplary and the staff very friendly. be aware that it is off the beaten track as far as finding it, but there's a guy who walks you down a very narrow alleyway and takes you to the front door and then... Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
