Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I dined here on a number of occasions while in Marrakech last November-2022.This is a great place for people-watching.The coffee was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive...Highly recommended...A relaxing place to take a break from seeing the sights.

This cafe is well placed overlooking Jemaa El Fna Square. It has a large outdoor seating area at pavement level, which is shaded on a morning and provides a nice place for morning coffee and an opportunity to watch the hustle and bustle of life...in the square. The cafe is famed for its history and the wonderful views it provides the visitor. It dates from 1912 and much of the building has been preserved, showcasing its age and historical standing within Marrakech. I visited here several times during my stay but only for drinks and never for food. The waiters aren’t the friendliest but having said that when I asked about sitting up on the first floor balcony area I was politely informed that access up there is restricted through the day and was informed it opened at 4pm. What was really nice is that I was then allowed up to the balcony just to see it and take some photographs. This was a nice gesture that was much appreciated. I wasn’t charged anything and was given free access. I think there are nicer places to visit in Marrakech but I liked the history of the Cafe Glacier. I found the coffee here tasty and well priced.More

It is a nice view of the city center, however, you have to first pay for an entrance with a very impolite man. You can either get a soda from the freezer or order tea or coffee before you come in. ( everything is 25mad)...that man will not let you in if you don't pay first. Don't expect to enjoy your drinks it is ok if you want to see the view but as a restaurant/coffee experience I strongly don't recommend.More

This place gives the best view on multiple angles of the Djemaa el-Fna. It is self service (except coffee and tea), but it is about the view, which is absolutely fantastic. Go here for a drink and be amazed.

As far as I could tell most people were visiting this place to get a table upstairs on the Grand Balcony, affording a superb view across Jemma Al Fna both night and day, rather than for the quality of its drinks or food. Obviously you...have to buy drinks at least to get past the man at the top of the stairs, but the view & the experience is certainly worth it.More

Being an amateur photographer, I was looking for a place to get a good overview of Jemaa El Fna. Our tour guide recommended Le Grand Balcon Cafe Glacier. It was not easy to find. While the terrace/balcony is easy to see, the stairs leading up...to it are about "half a block" to the left as as you face the terrace. You have to buy something to get onto the terrace. I spent 20 dirham for an overpriced orange soda, but the view it gave me was outstanding. I spent about an hour up there takingMore

We went here because of the reviews. While there are good views (2 drink purchase required), we saw slot of other places with great views as well. If you haven’t ate yet, find another restaurant with a great view and eat/drink there. You want be...missing anything. This isn’t a place I would eat at.More

Very busy, loads of tourists. The mandatory drink system probably works for them. Nice view from balcony, however too crowded.

Simply the best viewpoint of the square. It is indeed so. The deal consists in buying a drink (non-alcoholic) at the entrance and than enjoying the wonderful panorama. Mint-tea costs you 2€, soft drinks a bit more. The tables directly at the balustrade are the...most popular and can take a while until one becomes free. No one's pushing you to drink anymore or leave the place. After a while you have enough anyway and leave again. No place to eat.More

If you look for a restaurant which has the best view on the Djemaa El Fna then is is your No 1 choice! Food is nothing special, however it is ok! Its not about the food I guess, its about the amazing view! I would...recommend to arrive 1 hour before sunset and have 1-2 drinks and dinner. Before sunset it is crowded and everybody looks for a free table. Be there before them :)More
