This is a really nice place. Although next to the main road a little distance from the train station, it is very peaceful. It was an old fortification and the thick walls and courtyard setting mean you are far away from the bustle outside. It is tastefully decorated but not overdone. The food was also very good - albeit a... More

THE AMBIENCE (8/10): La Sqala is located in an old fortified citadel from the 17th century, it is fascinating. Walking up the stairs and finding two old canons displayed there takes you into a history trip. I would have loved to take a picture of a canon and the ocean in the background but it was very foggy that day.... More

The food was very good, the atmosphere and service great and the prices reasonable. In the midst of Casablanca, this was a pleasant retreat from the rest of the city.

Great location, with historic back ground. Service is good. Go there for breakfast or a snack. Very original Menu, mixing tradition and modernity.

It's a very Moroccan looking restaurant. Atmosphere and ambience is great. Prices are little expensive, mid range. Great selection of dishes on the menu. However food lacked good authentic Moroccan flavours, even the smell wasn't the same. I had to ask for an extra side of Moroccan meat sauce to put over my couscous dish to give it some flavour.... If you want to experience a fancy, authentic Moroccan breakfast go here! I loved it! The food was delicious, the orange juice is the best I've ever tasted, and the Moroccan tea is out of this world!

One of my colleagues took me here for Moroccan afternoon tea, or gouter, and what an experience it was! The surroundings are beautiful; wonderful rich blue tiles, fountains, lush greenery and parasols to protect from the sun. We had a selection of fresh juices, a delicious Moroccan soup and a variety of fresh Moroccan breads and pastries, both savoury and... More

The Moroccan salad was absolutely amazing - 5 small dishes of different salads. Can be used to split between friends. The vegetarian tagine was quite plain taste-wise, the chicken tagine consisted of several pieces of chicken, barely any vegetables. The fish tagine was the best prom what we tried

We enjoyed a very nice set of traditional moroccan cuisine. Worth to mention are the "sardines farcie au choira" and the Tajine young lamb from Essaouira. They have delicious fruits and vegetable cocktails good to try while you wait for your hot order. The ambiance is very nice due to the large spaces and gardens decorated in a minimalist moroccan...
