We visited The Cafe for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the unique menu of this restaurant located in what feels like a little town in a Walt Disney movie. Good food in a nice comfortable restaurant. The part of Ames this is located in is "cute" and worth just driving around to enjoy the ambience.

I have visited the Cafe many times and have never been disappointed in my meal. They have a menu that changes often with fresh foods that are seasonal and well prepared. They can be crowded but I have never waited more than 15 minutes for a table and it is worth the wait. Enjoy!

We arrived about 1:00 pm on a week day, were told a 20 min. wait which actually was 10 and it was so worth any wait. Shelby was our friendly and attentive server. I had a wonderful Reuben sandwich and chips, $11.95 that were just delightful, warm, crispy and just enough salt. Probably house-made. My friend had a sweet Italian... More

The food is all homemade and locally grown. If you can stand the wait when you arrive, the food and service are worth it. The menu is different every week so check the website ahead of time for their weekly features. When our children come to visit this is the go to for weekend brunch and is always a treat... More

Arrive early if you don't want to wait, even on a week night. Our server was friendly, quite knowledgeable and ready with recommendations. Great selection of beverages and a varied menu. My dining companion had one of the evening's specials--braised short rib sandwich served with steak fries. My fire-roasted spaghetti squash topped with mushroom/tomato/cheese was delicious (though could have been... More

The butternut soup is second to none! The quiche is delicious as well as the decadent desserts! Be prepared to wait a bit but it is worth it!

Waited 30 minutes to be seated as waiting on 5th guest. Rather then set us at a table & we could have enjoyed drinks we instead sat by bathrooms. Menu was disappointing left after all agreed nothing appealed to us after such a long wait. Not going back

We have eaten breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. They change the menu frequently and buy local, so you are not having the same menu all the time. The atmosphere is nice, also a bakery where they have bread and sandwiches for sale. The bread is very good.

We visit this restaurant quite often as it is one of the best in Ames. They have an excellent seasonal menu. I like their veggie burger and Pizza's..they ar really good..Only down side is the wait time..sometime we have to wait for more than an hour during dinner time..which seems an awful lot with a 3 year old kid..So parents...
