Have been here several time. Italian beef is excellent. Since you can add Sausage and peppers this is a real treat. Their house salad is large, fresh and delicious.

Went to Portillo's last Friday and decided to try the Lenten special of a Pepper and Egg Sandwich. One of the best I've had in years. The eggs were moist and the peppers were cooked to the right tenderness. Wish it was a year round special!

While I was visiting a local vendor, they had Portillos brought in for lunch. I had a big beef that was dipped in "gravy" which is au jus. It was very good and very filling and I'm not a small guy. The fries that came with it were nothing special. Next time I'll try the onion rings.

Italian beef with cheese is my favorite but, of course, I have to get a Chicago hot dog that their known for too. Get a slice of Nancy's chocolate cake. They really have processing large numbers to service down.

For years, this is the best hot dog in the Chicagoland area, in my opinion, and there are a bunch to choose from. Always hot and plump, and juicy with a great bun. Rest of choices are good to, depending on your taste. At various places they have ribs and pasta plates and they are all good, and price is... More

While the hot dogs are a must so is the beef dip - it was so delicious! the gravy / sauce just makes the sandwich. I also had their chili fries and Chicago hot dog. You should also try the chocolate cake milkshake - be warned you might have to share - it like drinking a chocolate cake. Definitely a... More

OMG - good! Was in town with co-workers and was told we had to eat here.. they were right. The only issue was having to decide if your going to have a Chicago dog or the Italian beef... suggestion, get them both!
