My wife and I recently visites Copan Ruinas for a long weeknd. We stayed at a B&B a block away from Sol de Copan. I live in Honduras, and having heard about the authentic German beer, stopped in on a Thursday night. We met the...owner, Thomas, who also runs the place, hand on, BTW, and tried his Weissbier he had available. Wow. I spent 6 weeks in Germany in the 80,s and this was as good as i remember. We tried his sausages, and the next night his pasta. Excellent¡ Go here. Locals do.More

Only come here if you're after high quality beer, brewed with conviction. We had to try a few, just to be sure. Thomas is very engaging and is passionate about his craft. We didn't eat here but the food smelt good. Recommended.

I’m right now on a shuttle returning to Guatemala after 4 days in Copan and what am I thinking about? - not the amazing ruins, not the Macaws who I marveled at for an hour lying on my back, but the sausage and beer from...Sol de Copan! Even my vegetarian wife liked the sausage - no joke. My father is Austrian and I know from sausage and German potato salad and both were as good as I have ever had. And while I like the local Cabro beer if you are a beer lover this is like a cervesa oasis - don’t miss it!More

This German owned and run bar is tucked away down some stairs, two blocks up from the central square. Exceptional beer and large convivial tables with locals and tourists make this a popular spot

We went mid-afternoon, which meant there was no vibe. The beer was good and while the menu was small, we enjoyed our meals although the bratwurst was unlike any German one we had ever had. Oddly, they played heavy metal music very loudly during our...visit.More

Beer is amazing food is better than I had in most places in Germany. Best part was owner's service moved from Germany and opened 11 years ago make beer himself makes pasta himself and even own sausage but the schnitzel stole the show would give...6 stars if I could.More

A small bar in the basement with one-premises made German beer and German food. The beer was delicious and the food inexpensive and tasty. It's quite busy later in the evening and everyone shares space/tables so you may find yourself sitting with locals and tourists...alike. Operators speak English as well if your Spanish is rusty.More

German food in Copan, Honduras can be hard to come by, but Sol de Copan is doing their best! The Semana Santa brew (yes, only during Semana Santa) was great. The owner is friendly and helpful. My husband, teenage daughter and I went together and...it was a little awkward sharing a 6-person booth/table with a couple straight from Germany and two young men obviously there for the nightlife. We sat between the two groups and felt pretty... awkward. But the food was good and service good.More

Cozy bar/restaurant run by a German man who makes quality handcrafted beer. The barley and hops come from Germany so the taste is authentic, the head is firm, and the beer is amazing. Great balance of flavors in each beer we tasted. The German sausage...we ordered was served with German potato salad and a green salad. I wish I could have stayed and drank all night!!!More
