Gio's is hard to find but worth it. Every restaurant in Roatan grills fish fillets, but theirs are the best, cooked to perfection. Crispy on the edges, light but firm in the middle, and perfectly seasoned. Conch ceviche was also delicious. The upstairs outdoor deck...catches the breeze and is a pleasant place to sit over a drink. Prices were a bit higher than average. Service was excellent. We were the only ones there due to covid restrictions, so I can't speculate what it is like under normal conditions.More
I was REALLY looking forward to it! Tied for worst ever! Seriously, could smell prawns 4 feet from table. Staff was certainly nice....but
Intro says Gio in hands on daily. Staff said hadnt seen him for MONTHS
4 of us ate supper here one night, little rough to get to, but once there it's worth it. Not our favourite restaurant on the island, but the food and service were very good and they had some interesting drink specials, could eat outside, but...we chose not to that night.More
I ordered their "famous" king crab, with spaghetti.
They dare to advertise their "Italian" cuisine but there's nothing Italian about overcooked cheap spaghetti offered as a sad side to the main dish.
The king crab was ok, although it didn't really taste fresh - let's...say uninspiring and not worth the big bucks.More
Alright.. so I was looking forward to get to this place cause I love seafood, location was nice. Beautiful open balcony with tables sea front, we order the special of the house and was looking amazing.
It was nice but I think it’s too much...garlic allover.
When I asked the bill it come in local price money when in the menu it’s in dollar. Little bit confusing plus they had on tip for the galley automatically. I work in hospitality for 23 years and was first time I saw such thing.
Anyway worth to go once but cautious with the check.More
We have eaten here on two previous visits and really enjoyed the location and the food. This time the restaurant was almost empty and now we know why. The food remains good, but they are charging $9 for a cocktail, there are too many other...choices available for people to go out of their way to get to this restaurant and be overcharged.More
bad service, cold meal ,over over price for the poor quality, wine 5x time grocery price, they try to charge you 10% for bar service+ 15 % for food....+18 % tax for drink...+15% tax for food..simply ridiculos, please don’t spend your money there...
Just returned from dinner here with my wife on the recommendation of a local friend. I feel ripped off. Spent a hundred bucks on dinner for two that was lousy. I had the lobster, my wife conch. If this is what qualifies as a good...restaurant in Roatan get your meals at Petrogas. At least it won't cost you a hundred. Bill comes with additional taxes and a "propina". Our waitress was quick to explain that 10 % was for the kitchen, not her. They should have tipped me based on the quality of the food. Oh well, live and learn. Pick another place. Gio, you should be ashamed! Never again!More
