Our tour guide took us here when we requested some good local food. It was the best seafood dishes we've had in a long time. One of my sisters and I had the lobster and my other sister had the shrimp. Bertie's recipe was wonderful. Wish I could duplicate. Would love to have at home.

We stopped here on the way back to our NCL cruise ship, following the signs by the waterfront to get to Bertie's. When we arrived, we were greeted by Wellington, an incredibly friendly and enthusiastic waiter. Not only did he serve us our drinks promptly, but he offered to take photos of us by the water with our ship in... More

By way of a recommendation from a hotel staffer, we were taxied to Bertie's Creole Cuisine. The restaurant is in the Coxen Hole section of town, but there is no address that we were able to discover so you will have to rely on your driver to know about and find this place. Bertie's is an open air, decidedly down... More

My love and I stopped in here before heading back to the cruise ship. Device was great and my garlic coconut shrimp was delicious. Accompany them with rice and plantains and I was as happy as can be. My love was happy with his jalapeño steak. Great view and ambience. They were so kind when we had to return and... More

A wonderful relaxing meal of garlic shrimp with a side of plantains, red beans and rice, and topped off with a cool Corona with lime! Great conversation with a new friend, served with a smile and grace by Wellington, and our host and cook Bertie, was a sweetheart! Another friend we met was Arick, the monkey that hangs out! Watch... After a tour of Roatan Island, we wanted a local lunch. I asked advice from a Guide and she recommended Bertie's. It was a great find - on the waterfront but away from the main street. Wellington greeted us and gave us a perfect table beside the sea. It's very basic, just tables and chairs on sand. I chose Garlic... More

My husband and I shared a plate -- it was definitely big enough to do that! Had the Garlic shrimp, red beans and rice, and fried platanos. <--- these were the best! We asked the waiter at the tourist restuarant down on the beach (at Carinval's port) where we could get local food. He told us to go here. We... More

Bertie's offers a real treat from the natives of Roatan. Located next to the cruise ship docks on the water. Oh yes, sand floors. Friendly folks and very happy to see you. Their specialty is grouper which was the best fish we had on our Roatan vacation. Fun place. Highly recommend.

Great port side restaurant just steps from the Norwegian Cruise port. While on an excursion our tour guide was explaining about "Bamboo Chicken" or Iguana. So I asked where I could get some? I was directed to Bertie's. You have to ask for it (it's not on the menu-Imagine that!). My party also had Honduran Grilled anbd stewed lobster, peas... More
