We had the 8 course experience this January at Flor De Lis. We're greeted with inciense in the room and there are bags on the table to store our masks while we eat. We arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was empty until 8pm when...we left. From the start, the host offers the 2 cocktails available and we tried both: their version of negroni with sesame oil + martini with aceite de epazote, both good. The 8 courses have a lot of information, long stories hard to retain and enjoy as we encounter the plate. Some visual aid or QR codes w/ the story would make a difference. Taste wise, food is something like you would eat traditionally in Central American countries: beans, maize, spices, salt, etc. but with a different texture and presentation. They use interesting bases and plates that make the presentation look augmented. Now, our only complaint is the PRICE. The portions are so small for the value. We work in the industry and understand the effort it takes to make the whole course journey possible, but what they charge for the portion size is disrespectful to say the least.More

Very creative cuisine and delicious food. The place is not for the big hunger, rather it is a tasteful cultural experience and introduction into the Guatemala cuisine and its ingredients.

Gastronomy, around the world, has improved by leaps and bounds, over the past ten years. There are several restaurants that are at the forefront of the movement that is both exciting and innovative. Guatemala City is fortunate to count itself as being one of the...cities that is home to one of the best of these nouveau restaurants. Flor de Lis is on a short list of places that is redefining what fine dining is all about. The ten course tasting menu touches all of your senses in ways that leaves you in a state of euphoria. I won't go into each dish except to say that the overall concept and execution of every bite was nothing short of delectable. A pure pleasure to be able to experience something different, new, and without question, cutting edge in the world of gastronomy! Bravo! Well Done!More

We enjoy great food and always try to experience one good restaurant when we travel. This one was a really innovative experience full of surprises. The waiters take you to a very special journey explaining the origins of the meal, the story of it in...Popol Vuh, although it is sometimes difficult to understand in Spanish but you can get the translation in English. You eat most of the plates with hands. We had the 10 courses menu and we really enjoyed (450Q) and discovered vegetables and mixes we didn't know. My favourites were a salty green round toast with a vegetables cream inside and the dessert that was full of flavours (citrus like). I think we should have had the English translation every time though because now I can't remember what I ate... I just remember the Mayan stories around each dish. Go for it, it is a really good experience!More

Overall, I recommend Flor de Lis. The food is very creative and delicious. My main complaint is they backstory to the food is too long and I do not the full history of your inspiration for each dish. If you want to tell me a...very long story about the food, do it between courses not when the food is sitting in front of me. Also, there is no need to lie to patrons about what you are eating. They serve brains or ants but lie about the ingredients and the surprise patrons afterwards. I have no issues with the ingredients - I will try anything once. But I feel like Flor de Lis treats it customers like kids when the hide what they are serving to trick less adventurous customers.More

The tasting menu consists of ten dishes served on a variety of natural "plates." The server explains both the ingredients and the history -- Mayan -- of each dish. The taste in most is subtle and delicious. Flor de Lis is a unique experience. The...visitor to Guatemala City should not miss it.More

The best restaurant in town that i´ve been to so far. The word "innovative" has been used around too much lately and may be at risk of losing its impact... well...Flor de Lis Restaurante has restored its meaning!! Through a 10 course meal the team...@ Flor de Lis walks you through the tales of the Popol Vuh... a cultural narrative that recounts the mythology and history of the Kʼicheʼ people who inhabit the Guatemalan Highlands northwest of present-day Guatemala City. This is a MUST visit stop if you come visit the country. Also, it's chef and owner is considered perhaps the number one chef in the country. Check him out @diegotellesfdlMore

200-400 quetzales for the tasting menu ($26.00-$52.00) although I believe you can order single dishes for less checkout their menu online
