Our group of six adult family members ate here recently. We found the food to be quite good. We started with two appetizers. The jamon Iberico and cheese plate which was excellent. The pulpo a la Gallega was good, but not authentic as it had...a creamy sauce with it instead of just olive oil and salt. For our entrees: Lamb chops. Very good. Fidua. Good but maybe go for the all seafood version that our waiter Angel suggested. I had the mixed. There were a lot of peas that were a little undercooked. Shrimp with the coconut and tamarind sauce. Very good. A bit heavy on the breading for my taste, but again, very good. Orzo with shrimp. Very good. Two other shrimp dishes that we tried were also very good. I would definitely return to Gracia. I'd stick to the grilled and sautéed entrees instead of anything with breading. THE SERVICE: EXCELLENT. Our waiter, Angel was without question one of the best we've ever had. Period!!More
The food is wonderful and a real treat, the service is good, the ambiente nice! But then from a very large wine list none of the 4 midrange priced red wines were available... but we have the one you want in a magnum size, good...but oh its a bit more expensive. Well please accommodate me.... The staff can not handle complaints of this issue and after some forward and backward and insisting they called the owner and yes of course they will accommodate, throw in the deserts and after dinner drinks. A friend recommended Gracia, we went, and we’re so glad we did! The restaurant is gorgeous. There were several other tables there, but it wasn’t loud. We were really looking for a wow food, and found it here. We started out with the tuna tartare,...it was very good. However, next we split the arugula and avocado salad, and that was truly a “wow” plate - yeah, I know it’s a salad, but whatever they do with is amazing. You gotta try it. For the mains, my partner had the scallops, and they were wonderful - perfectly cooked. I had the almond crusted sea bass off the specials menu - super good. Service was outstanding and the prices were reasonable. We’ll try to go back before we leave Guatemala City.More
The restaurant is well-done so one feels at home. The presentation was excellent. So what was my problem? I ordered one dish and given another. When I mentioned this to our server he simply said I was wrong. Not wanting to make an issue, l...accepted the dish. The amount of salt they used was equivalent to the salt content in the Great Salt Lake. I ate maybe three bites and left it. The waiter when he cleared our dishes did not even ask why I hardly ate it. My opinion is they don't care about the customers or no trainer to the employees.More
Great Restaurant! Often "cocina de author" restaurants get "way too creative" in the chef´s view of what you should eat and how you should eat it. At Gracia, the creativity is in their dishes and they let you choose and enjoy whatever you want to...eat. No pre-set menus etc. I have visited three times and selected different dishes and all have been very good experiences. Their beef is great in many ways. They have one of the best and most creative wine lists in town, with wine offerings that you won´t find in most places and one particular element: Wines are very reasonably priced. The atmosphere and location of this restaurant is just right for taking to lunch a client you wish to please. It is in the heart of what is undoubtedly the most important of the City's business centers. The 2nd floor location removes it from the...bustle of the street. Inside it is tastefully modern, and, unlike so many other restaurants in Guatemala, it avoids trying to look Spanish Colonial, or French Rococo, or pseudo-Italian, or a straw-covered "Rancho". No musak or marimbas. The food is quite good (I had some very nice croquettes as a start, followed by one of their duck specialties, and a classy dessert) and the portions small (desirable at lunch). The wine list has enough choices that you can find a bottle of good wine at an acceptable price. If you like to finish your meal with a good cup of coffee (as I do), theirs is good. Service was also OK to good.I don't give it a "5" because I have eaten better in the City (the nearby Jean Francois restaurant that just closed had a superior menu, in my opinion, even if more traditional). The restaurant is high-priced, but you get a good product.More
We had a great time at this restaurant, they have an excellent variety of food, with different options and flavours. The sommelier is very gentle and understand the customer to make great recommendations. The deserts could be better.
Good food all the time, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Good place to celebrate baby or bridal showers.
