Very nice service. Good food for the money. On a nice day can sit outside. Coffee is very good with refill.

Waited 15 or so minutes to get attention of the staff/owners. Felt we were invisible in the store. Should've spend my money elsewhere.

Stopped in to the Hula Hut on a rainy afternoon for a quick bite. I had the pulled pork sandwich that could have used a bit more sauce. Nice view of Avila's Front Street and beach. In addition to the sandwiches and soup, the Hula Hut features Doc Burnstein's ice cream which looked delicious but not so appropriate on a... More

The Hula Hut has very friendly staff, we loved the unique gifts through out the store and the large windows at the seating area were great so we could enjoy watching the crashing waves on the stormy, rainy day.

We just wanted a snack and had ice cream in waffle cones -- VERY VERY good. For Ice Cream fanatics from the SF Bay area -- as good as Treat Ice Cream in San Jose or Marianne's Ice Cream in Santa Cruz -- The waffle cones were fresh and crispy. The ice cream was wonderfully creamy and the flavors didn't... More

Went in just to check out the place and ended up buying the most delicious chocolate chip cookie I have ever had! We asked if they could microwave it and they did! I was so impressed, we ended up going back the day we left just to get the cookie. I also had a mocha. I didn't particularly care for... More

We wanted ice, but the selection was poor. We decided to go to the main store in Arroyo Grande. The ice cream selections were very limited, and the help just stares as we are looking at the flavors. We just left, and bought the ice cream in Arroyo Grande instead of Avila.

Mint chocolate and pistachio were our favorites. Very generous scoops, even the child's scoop looks big.

I thought I should try Doc Burnsteins. But $5 for one scoop? Sorry. Outrageous and not worth the price. Just ok. I thought it must be great so I paid the price. Kind of mediocre I would say.

Can't come to Avila without stopping at Hula Hut. The owner and staff are so friendly...treat you like family. One of the few Doc Burnsteins ice cream stops outside the 5 cities area. White chocolate merlot is a standard and good anytime of the day! Hidden gem for breakfast and lunch. Can always find something to buy for myself or... More
