Be prepared to wait, the parking lot is almost always full. What does that tell you! While you wait for your order, you can buy fresh produce, dried fruit, jams, jelly, and outstanding homemade pies. Easy on and off of Interstate 80.

Located just off hwy 80 between Sacramento and Reno, Ikeda's location is perfect for a quick lunch, dinner or pie break. Tried the crab sandwich (although a tad expensive-it was TOTALLY worth it!), the mushroom burger and 3 kinds of pie. Also bought pesto and Thai peanut sauce to take home. Everything was excellent! Although it was our first time... More

Heard about this place from family. Very good produce plus bakery and restaurant. Many other things to go along with snaking and condiments. Tried the pie and a couple other things. Pie was good not too sweet. Berries and crust both good. Good experience over all. Only draw back was cleanliness. Tables were sticky with food etc. Manager said he... More

Never have liked this place mainly because it is a Mecca for rude yuppie travelers. Good desserts okay at best food. Over the years it seems to be a place for travelers not locals. Definitely a place where The Prius and Subaru crowd will feel cool. Place us all hype and they will charge you for it. I personally would... More

Ikeda's is an institution. They are famous for their fresh pies - apple, berry, pecan, and more. But, it is so much more ! As long as I've been driving to North Lake Tahoe (like over 40 years), Ikeda's has been the place to stop. If you haven't been recently, the next generation owners have stepped up the quality of... We occasionally stop here on tgecwY home to Lake Tahoe. The burgers are great as are the fries. They also have a fruit and veggie market. Great spot to stop with or without kids.

Just off the freeway, this place is perfect to grab and sandwich and pie. $10 gets the biggest sandwich ever - mine was pesto chicken with grilled onions and lots of other goodies. I could only eat half. My son had a double burger and loved it. The sweet potato fries are delish. They also have a store that sells... More

Have been coming here for many years, and it seems since I was last here they have done some nice upgrading to the dining areas! Luckily the menu is seemingly the same. They have reconfigured the inside dining area to open the flow patterns and add more seating, while boosting outdoor seating with quite a few tables. This is good... More

Every time we pass this place it is a must to stop! I always grab some unbaked chicken pot pies. You can bring them home and freshly bake them or keep them in your freezer. We also always grab slices of pies and cobblers. My favorite is the peach! We also by snacks, and the wasabi peas are delicious. I'm... More

If you are on your way to Tahoe or Reno, and around lunchtime, this is the place to stop for a great burger. They also have an adjacent shop selling outstanding fresh 'homemade' pies.
