Pizza's and pasta's are amazingly good. House salad comes out looking like it's just a plate of lettuce but then you taste it and it has an amazing amount of flavor. Friendly family run Italian restaurant with good service and an open wood fired oven in the back. Great Negronis too.

When we walked into the restaurant the first thing I noticed was that only two other tables were occupied. Ok, it was a Sunday night I thought. The three of us were seated at the back by the pizza oven. The second thing I noticed was the man standing at the end of the bar as silent and inscrutable as... More

We went to Cugini’s on Solano in Albany for lunch. It was fairly empty, but there is a lot of competition on Solano! We had glasses of the house wines, which was maybe a bit steep at $7.50. The menu has a lot of variety, from burgers, salads, pizza to full Italian dishes. One of us got the classic Caesar,... More

Friends said they wanted to eat Italian so we tried Cugini on Solano Ave. We had a good experience. We ordered a good Caesar salad, the large fed the 4 of us. Our friends had delicious looking and smelling Parmesan one chicken and the other eggplant. My wife had the daily special which was shrimp and vegetables over linguine and... More

decent neighborhood Italian restaurant with open front during warmer weather. Calzone outshines pizza and my favorite dish is the pasta with a marinara/calabrese sausage sauce. Cocktails and wine selection is ambitious but the bartenders need some lessons on the mixing of classics like Sazerac and Aviation. The place is mega-busy on weekends.

This is a fun neighborhood restaurant with friendly staff, great food and big portions. Their pastas and salads are excellent. It's a fine choice for families and for casual dining.

It's rare that I visit a restaurant with two others and not one of us is happy with our meal. At that point, you realize there's no reason to speak with the staff, you just don't like their cooking. I actually left my food uneaten.

Easy to walk to, Solano Ave Italian restaurant...with Dad, Mom and the 2 most adorable kids greeting their guests. One feels like they are visiting a friend's home. Excellent cocktails started our meal. Nice salad, delicious Calabrese Pizza and seafood pasta followed. Friendly staff makes the visit so pleasant too. Outdoor tables when weather permits. This is the kind of... More

The restaurant was out of most of the things I wanted. The fish was excellent, but overall I was not happy that the waiter didn't tell us they were out of things until we ordered. Not sure I will go back. Nice ambiance and pretty easy to get to.

Thank Brandi O
