Great variety of food, friendly service and always a tasty meal...oh, and NO Cellphones! They mean it! They take the country living to its fullest from the decorations to the hospitality. We always stop in for a good meal and a smile

A group of us riding our motorcycles up Highway 191 (Devil's Highway) stopped in at the Bear Wallow for some lunch. The place is cozy and typical of a "mountain cafe". Lots of local flavor in the decor etc. The service was really good - everyone was friendly and helpful. The food came out pretty quick and was quite good.... More

We passed through Alpine, AZ and passed the Bear Wallow. We turned around and we were not disappointed. The friendly atmosphere and the people - both customers and the folks that worked in the cafe were great. Everyone were in their "right" minds here. Many retired professional people that were living the dream came in here. Lots of great food... More

This restaurant has stolen the hearts of all who eat in Alpine. They serve basic Americana nd Mexican dishes. Full on breakfast, and plenty for lunch. the best part is the Homemade Pie. If you know the right person, you can even purchase a whole pie for later. Good luck with that one!! Just a quality place with a hometown... More

Went to Bear Wallow with my family, twice, on the same three-day weekend. The food was better than average American breakfast. The service was splendid. The staff took a genuine interest in my kids, and talked to them and me so earnestly I felt like we were having breakfast _with_ them (the staff) rather than at one of their tables.... More

We were traveling the beautiful Coronado Trail (Rt 191) from Safford to Springerville when we discovered this treasure in Alpine. We both ordered the cod, which came with fries and slaw. The fish and fries were very good, the slaw was different, but not bad. The service and atmosphere were very good. We would definitely stop here again.

I've been here a couple time this year. Once for breakfast in July which was totally awesome. Today I was there for lunch and ordered the sourdough burger. It was good, however the menu said it was a 1/3 # burger. The patty was more the size of the ones that come on a $.99 McDonald's burger. But, the service... More

Just like my mama made it. Food fresh not commercial. There is beer or wine if you would like. There is never an empty glass of any beverage at the table. The service is fantastic just like the food!

There were 6 of us on motorcycles and all were very hungry. A storm the night before delayed our arrival by a few hours and we missed by having dinner. We all went in at once, and they had no problem with taking care of us. The service was excellent and the food was even better. You can bet if... More

Nice, clean, friendly staff. Good place to eat breakfast or lunch ( I have never eaten dinner there, but is probably good ,also). Nothing fancy just good food at decent prices. Would not hesitate to eat here anytime I am in the neighborhood.
