A fellow traveler and I enjoyed another fantastic lunch at Joe's Italian in Alabaster this week. I've reviewed this restaurant before, so I won't bore you again with tales of fantastic manicotti and out-of-this-world ravioli rose. I'll simply caution you about take-out. Since it's a 40 mile round trip to eat at Joe's, we always try to get carry-out while... More

Hi, my name is Mike Darnall and I am the GM at Joe's Italian. I am very happy with your review of the restaurant, while I am also very concerned with the take out review. I apologize for the lack of consistency on your take out orders. I will make sure to coach my team on the importance of packaging... More

Have had a few trips here and it is great every time we go. The food is authentic and the service is great too!! Worth the trip to skip the chain Italian restaurant in town to find this Gem.

I have been dining here for years and know of no better Italian food in Birmingham! The food, service and whole experience are Top Notch! You MUST try it! Sweet, old Joe has passed, but his family carries on and they do it Joes way!

Papa Joe is dancing with the angels but new owners were great students. Very reliable good food, great food. Crowded Italian family style restaurant. A bonus on weekend nights is old Italian live accordion music ! Some of the best original Italian cakes and desserts you ever ate.

Had lunch there for the first time since Joe died and was not disappointed. The family sold the restaurant (and the recipes) to a company that specializes in buying "mom & pop" restaurants and keeping everything the same. The lasagna is the best I've ever had. Anywhere. Please don't change anything!!

So my 19 year old wanted a strawberry cake for her birthday. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and it has several open tables but they seemed rushed. We waited about 15 minutes to see what our chances were to get half a cake. The young man at the take out counter seemed irritated the we would even be... More

I read your review and can only sympathize with the fact that you were asking for a cake for your son's birthday and we completely dropped the ball. We... More

Never a disappointment. Yes there was a wait but that should tell you what everyone thinks of the food. Reminds me of the Hill in St. Louis with the live music & tables close together. Try the lasagna. Probably the best bolognese I've had. The cakes are outstanding & fresh.

This place was fantastic! We went during the week, which was a very low key night for this establishment. However, have also been on the weekend which is a much longer wait time but well worth the wait. The food is great and the best advice is eat half your food and take the rest home and order the dessert!... More

From the moment we walked in the door we were happy we came! Greg was our server and he was by far the best server I've ever had! He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and was great at guiding us to what to try! The wedding soup was the best I've ever had, the tomato basil was also very good. The... More

I can not get enough of their bread and oils. The wait staff is ok but the food speaks for itself. The owner's recipes are wonderful and they have the best meatballs I've tasted. I typically get the tortellini and am never disappointed. The prices are excellent too. Give Joe's a try!
