OMG, the pancakes were to die for. We also had the waffle balls which were delicious. My husband had been there previously for pierogi night and he brought me back to try the food. The service was a bit slow, but the place was nicely furnished and very clean.

Very disappointed in the service and portion size in relation to the cost. On one plate, the latkes were over-cooked, Other dishes could have used a side of fruit or something else to justify the $15 or $16 cost. While we had a reservation, it took about five minutes before we were even greeted. One member of our party had... More

Very nice menu and cocktails. Out of perogi the night we went but our table had kielbasa and cabbage and Swedish meat balls and salad with pickled herring. there were several vegetarian options as well. They do some seasonal menu changes apparently as well. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere in cute neighborhood

Interesting that having two sets of grandparents with Slavic and Ukranian heritage, I had never really tried cuisine from the region. So I jumped at the chance when invited to try Domku Bar & Cafe and their ethnic comfort food. Domku is a charming little restaurant and bar, well lit but still cozy, in an area that is quickly transitioning... More

One of the most unique (food and decor) and consistent (quality) restaurants in DC. Be prepared for a slow-moving dining experience though. Overall, a top notch place that overcomes its slow service with charm and delicious food.

This small restaurant on Upshur St NW is so great! I was anxious to try the Polish-Scandanavian menu, which isn't my regular fare. I started with a flight of the infused Aquavit and fell in love with the black currant. We had sample plate of pickled herring, pickled mackerel, pickles, etc which was very tasty. The honey liquor that I... More

I've been here a couple times because it is a very cute, trendy restaurant. Restaurants serving northern European food aren't very common in DC, but this place knows how to do it (I'd say). That being said the food is filling, but they have great appetizers you can get instead if you're not in the mood for awesome swedish meatballs... More

Domku was different than I was expecting. It had been on my "to try" list for a while. It was off the beaten path for us, in Petworth. I expected white, contemporary, sleek decor - but it was homey and casual, with brick walls and wood tables. We were the only one of 2 tables seated at 7PM on a... More

We went to Domku with family while visiting over Easter weekend. As noted, Domku is an interesting mix of Slavic and Scandinavian cuisine. The space itself is small, and has the potential for being noisy when crowded. Our group enjoyed a variety of foods from the menu, including the herb & vegetable soup, chłodnik, borscht, along with Swedish meatballs, Polish... More
