We had another wonderful meal here last night. We go here at least once each time we visit DC. The service is terrific and the food is even better. We have introduced our nephew and niece to the place and now it is a favorite...of theirs also.More
We ate at multiple Michelin restaurants and other top rated places in DC and this was our best meal. It was our best Indian meal ever, and top 10 ever for us. At lunch.
The palak chaat is a must order. So good.
The chicken...tikka masala was amazing. We also ordered a lamb biryani that was great - only not as good as the tikka masala. The naan was but chutneys were great.
We ate at top rated and Michelin restaurants during our visit to DC but this was the best restaurant we visited. For both food and service. 6 stars.More
Even though there is outside service, the restaurant inside is welcoming and relaxing. Staff is cordial but we lucked out with a highly energized waiter, Gustavo. He explained in detail how the food is prepared in the kitchen. No doubt he appreciates the tasty plates...that they are serving. By his suggestions our lunch included their famous Palak Chaat (crispy spinach, sweet yogurt, tamarind, date chutney);
Tawa Baingan (eggplant, spiced potato, olive oil, peanut sauce) and Scottish Tandoon Salmon…best salmon we ever ate! It’s about their techniques and the oven. It’s a must to have dessert: Date/Toffee Pudding.
So, we went back for our final dinner in DC. We were excited to have the 4 course Chef’s Tasting Menu and was delighted that they had a choice for Vegetarian, which my husband ordered. Lentils outstanding but their Paneer Tawa Masala a favorite. Uniquely done is the Dover Sole Chuttneywala. Surprisingly the Bhindi Amchoor (okra) delicious.
In general, their menu offers variety. Make sure you have an appetite. You will not be disappointed.More
There is no other restaurant in the United States quite like Rasika. The flavors and sauces are iconic. I just came back after experiencing the tasting menu and it was awesome. I ate so much I am ready to explode! I have been to all...the great restaurants in DC and by far, Rasika is the best.More
We did the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing and had plenty to eat. The service was perfect, and the food delicious - we especially loved the flounder wrapped in a banana leaf (paired with an Alsatian Riesling), as well as the lentils. We...will definitely be back.More
We had an amazing lunch and tried several dishes. We left so full that we skipped dinner. The Cauliflower Bezule was amazing, the Chicken Biryani generous and satisfying and the Cucumber Raita was refreshing and delicious.
I am surrounded by good Indian in New Jersey, which is the best outside of India. And yet, Rasika is the food that stirs my soul. I do hope that they are able to maintain steady business post COVID. They have very nice outside tented...seated for those of us who are still weary to spend our time inside. Everything that we had was beyond delicious from starters to delectable desserts. I have always been so reluctant to indulge in fish curries and the snapper pollichattu was probably the best fish dish that I've had all year in any circumstances. The cocktails and mocktails were cool and refreshing, not too sweet. The wine list perfectly matched to the food. I only wish I could have eaten more.More
