My husband and I visited Fiola Mare for Valentine's Day weekend. We made a reservation ahead of time and I'm glad we did because it ended up being pretty busy. We got there early and sat at the bar and enjoyed a few drinks. The...More
Wonderful restaurant with delicious appetizers and a great selection of fish and meat dishes. We had the seafood tower appetizer which has a great selection of lobster, clams, mussels, langoustine and caviar. We enjoyed the salt crusted branzino, baked halibut and veal chop for two....More
My son and I booked at Fiola Mare without really understanding the dress code. We were casual but smart and this was definitely more upscale and business dress. But once seated , we proceeded to enjoy the seafood tower as an appetizer - which can...More
An ideally located restaurant along the Potomac river in Georgetown.
Portions are slim but sufficient, food quality of high standard.
Apart from the tiramisu, which has been revisited in a very modern way, you will not get highly sophisticated recipes but everything will be good,...More
We came here at the recommendation of a well known foody friend of ours from here. The restaurant is very busy, so plan on making reservations. The service was great and Sharif was very good at checking in on us and making sure everything was...More
Beautiful restaurant, inventive menu, delicious food, smart and attentive staff, but ridiculously over priced wine that must be 5 to 6 times cost. Restaurant "allows" patrons to bring up to 2 bottles for a corkage fee of $50 each. Their wine policy really strikes a...More

Business dinner for 8 on a Thursday evening. Restaurant was busy and initial service of drinks was very slow. Overall, dinner was OK, nice portions and decent flavor, but nothing out of the ordinary. The real trick is to avoid the constant up-sell by the...More

I'd say weekday lunch is more casual and no tie or jacket required, though definitely upscale casual is good and my companion had a jacket (not tie). Haven't had dinner here. On the terrace I saw a bit morecasual. I suspect summer is more casual than winter. I found Fiola Mare a bit more relaxed than Fiola (I have had the pleasure to eat at both). Fiola is downtown and more business oriented. Both places are great for special occasions. Fiola Mare has a view of the river and neat, tropical feel with ceiling fans in warmer weather. Bar is a good option if you don't mind eating on a stool but the upside is there is a lesser priced bar menu. Take your pick. Great place is the bottom line!
