All the way from South Africa, needed a place to unwind and this is exactly what we needed! Music is a universal language! That's what we got!

Went to hear jazz at Bohemian Caverns and it did not disappoint. It wasn't very crowded and we just had drinks. The music was top rate. Loved the choice of material and originals by very talented artists.

Went to Bohemian Caverns for their Wednesday Verses open mic! GREAT atmosphere. Only it was a little dark. Perhaps that's the vibe they were giving. The drinks were great and came out pretty quickly. Lighting made it difficult to know where the restrooms were.

I literally stumbled onto this places with no idea that out its such a legendary place. It was cold and raining and I just wanted to be inside. I asked the guy at the door of they had live music and it turned out the show was starting in about 2 minutes. Wow. The basement outs truly a cavern, looks... More

The Jazz performance was everything we could have wanted, but our food arrived at the end of the performance (and we were one of the first to arrive, 1/2 hour before the show). Service was just absolutely awful. Our server was apologetic, but while the kitchen was probably mostly responsible, she appeared to be serving more than half the crowd... More

$10 to go down and listen to some great jazz on Monday. The band was amazing. The venue itself was just OK. Service was good, prices were average, food was decent, place was HOT. Really worth it for the music though.

Son Alex took me to this amazing Jazz Club in Washington DC. In was June 21, 2014. Not sure of the name of the band but it was 4 older black guys playing real cool jazz. Loved it. Perfect.

This below street level venue offered really good jazz and decent food close to the U Street Metro. It was worth the $25 cover, $10 more to stay for the second set.

Had fantastic shrimp & grits for dinner plus a great cocktail. We enjoyed a music show during dinner. Crowd was a little elderly but this could be a pre-event for the more energetic crowd.

Located on (the somewhat downmarket side of) U Street, the Bohemian Caverns is nothing short of a landmark and hosted an astonishing array of jazz greats. The setting is, well, as the name indicates; think louche post-existentialist basement club on the Rive gauche in Paris and you're pretty close! During our visit, the place was virtually empty since it had... More
