I was surprised at my experience at Komi, because I have always heard such grand things about it. I did have high expectations, based on what I was told. But it was very average to me. The service first off, seemed far too pretentious. I have been to many fine dining establishments, and am very open minded. But our waiter... More

Fabulous, innovative, friendly. A treat. Great wait staff, amazing dishes. Sommelier is adorable/an educator. Every "bite" is like a birthday present.

We went to Komi last night for an amazing meal paired perfectly with mostly European wines. It is a fixed price menu with optional wine pairing. There is no menu, they just feed and amaze you. I won't elaborate on the courses but there were about 12 of them. They start small and end hearty and like s Greek family... More

I knew nothing about Komi except the address as I left Reagan Airport with my bags and only 1/2 hour to get to my dinner meeting. Uber could get me to the block, but neither of us could see any signage, so I just told him to drop me off. While trying to get my bearings, this fella was unlocking... More

The restaurant feels tucked away as it doesn't scream restaurant from the exterior and its relatively small size makes it feel intimate. Staff are friendly and helpful. We did the wine pairing and enjoyed the food. It's hard to believe you will feel stuffed as all you eat are bite sized portions of things (circa 12-14 courses) but I struggled... More

We went to Komi for the first time to celebrate an occasion, having dined at Little Serrow several times with great satisfaction. We were most pleased being seated at the best table, and with the congenial and knowledgeable staff who made us feel comfortable and special. We were surprised, however, how many of the 14 dishes were only good or... More

Pros: Excellent food, service, and wine pairings. The tastings are delicious and creative, presentation is superb, the servers take the time to understand what foods you prefer or don't like, and the staff really know their wines and how to pair them with the dishes. Everything was very, very close to perfection! Favorite dishes: Goat, pasta, calamari, and foie gras.... More

An intimate restaurant of about 2 dozen tables. From initial welcome until you leave, the staff aims for that unusual balance of being present when needed yet not intrusive to conversations at the table. Food preferences or allergies welcome and meticulously followed. One evening we had at table people who were vegan, kosher, and chemically sensitive. Everyone found the service... More

Komi offers a single $150 per-diner formula which includes a dozen dishes. It all starts very small and very colorful, flavorful and original seafood bits like mini-seaweed brioche topped with fish roe to blackened octopus with swiss chard puree and evolves to a few meaty bits like lamb sausage or pork-belly while making interesting detour like a warm cheese-filled date....
