Boy, were we lucky. Stuck in Chinatown and in need of pint of Guinness. Good thing we looked back. Good service and good crowd. Nice atmosphere. What else do you need for an Irish bar!

We decided to stop in for a few drinks and had a great time! Our server was awesome and the drinks were too! Next time we visit DC we plan to stop here.
The beer menu is extensive. The wait staff attentive and good pub food. But the real draw is the ambiance. The "snug" in the back by the fire puts you right into Dingle. Very enjoyable especially on a cold wet night.
We've been to Dublin and most Irish bars, outside of Ireland, are nothing like the real thing which is obvious I suppose but the atmosphere in Fados reminded us of our time in Dublin. It was busy and the food was nice, they even pored the Guinness the way it should be too!
The best thing we could say about this place is that the bouncer was professional and charismatic. Inside they do not care if you are there. 30 min and not a hello, drink, or even a glance. Go next door, the service is excellent and the food is too.
Its a pub. The most important aspect of the pub is the beer. If thats not good, then dont care about the decor or the food, all secondary.. So, good job the beer was good here! Stuck to the Guinness, which actually was pretty damned good. As that ticked the box, also had some food, wonderful... The classic chicken wings... More
I went to Fado last week with some friends during Happy Hour. We all got different beers and were delighted that the waitress pointed out some good ones. Unfortunately, when the bill came, we realized while we may have gotten recommended beers, they weren't necessarily beers with Happy Hour pricing. It didn't occur to us some beers on the list... More
Granted it was very busy today with the March but while waiting for a table, we gave up, predetermined some food which did not come till we had to leave to catch a bus home but the bartender was rude and smart alecky. Would not go back.
Fado's went out of their way for our family group early on New Year's Eve. Someone saw 2 online bookings for similar names (the online service wouldn't book a large group), and called to ask if we were the same group and if we wanted to sit together! Above and beyond good service. Drinks, appetizers, meals and desserts were excellent--enjoyed... More
If you’re looking for a traditional Irish pub in the DC area, Fado is the place for you. The décor, menu, everything about it just has the feel of a local pub right out of Dublin. The corned beef is pretty good and the sheperd’s pie was very tasty. They had a decent beer selection and the atmosphere is warm... More
