The customer service was lovely and welcoming. But given the price of mains, I would've hoped for less rugged surroundings but maybe this is it's charm. Seating is upstairs, only single seating downstairs seating. Would recommend but only if you're happy paying $35 for two...More

This place was recommended to me by the hostess at another restaurant and I️ am thrilled she did! You order at the counter, get your food and then find a seat downstairs or upstairs. It’s tight and gets busy but I️ found somewhere to sit...More

We have eaten here for years when we are in DC. Good food, salads and soup! Teas are fantastic. The location is convenient and the neighborhood is good for shopping. Sit downstairs along the windows for interesting street watching while you eat.

Love love their menu- it offers a wide range of selections so people who eat like a bird (me!) can have meal where I am able to finish everything; people who have a bigger appetite can also order a number of items and wouldn't burn...More

A good place to grab a quick meal -- food comes fast at the counter, the teas are truly excellent (and the choice is vast). Pleasant seating upstairs and downstairs. Solo-friendly option.

Being a vegan limits your options to eat out, but DC is a great place for that and so is Teaism! They have some good options (although few), especially Udon Noodle Soup and if you ask them to make it in their Coconut Miso Broth...More

Hi there - Thanks so much for reviewing - I wish that I could email you the dietary info chart - it shows all the vegan dishes - and also addresses gmo/gluten-free/soy etc. In the starter and sides section - there are close to 20...More

Lots of unique choices make this place a personal favorite in DC. A short walk from all the Smithsonian museums, this restaurant has just the menu to hit the spot.

With a Starbucks on every other block (it seems) in DC, there's no lack of places to get a quick tea (or coffee) fix. But when we stumbled upon Teaism, we had to duck inside and check it out. With temps in the 90's today,...More

This place has quick, hearty food that is delicious. I did find the portions quite large. I hear the downstairs has a koi pond.

Hi - thanks so much for visiting - I'm glad you were pleased with the portion size. People have such different appetites - we try to be reasonable, appropriate, satisfying and affordable! Come for breakfast or brunch - $5 mimosas on the weekends!

I visited this location twice recently, once for dessert after an unsatisfactory visit elsewhere, and the second time to try their kebabs (which they spell "Kabob"). Their Chocolate Coconut Cake, which is gluten-free and has rum caramel, was pretty good, but would have been even...More

Description
Teaism is a local group of restaurants with three locations in DC. We're devoted to serving top quality loose leaf tea and healthy, cooked-from-scratch food. In a casual and funky setting, we are open through the day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. A refuge for regulars and tourists alike, the restaurant features bento boxes, curries, sandwiches and salads. We're going "clean" eliminating high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, antibiotics and GMOs and adding as much local and organic as possible. Be sure to enjoy one of our world famous Salty Oat Cookies!
