This was our first return to the area since our 2nd date 4 years ago. We loved the Chef’s tasting menu then and we still love it now! It’s a sampling of maybe 12 or 13 things, and it was exquisite! Every dish was phenomenal...and it is so much food, it’s an amazing deal all around! The staff are super attentive and top notch. We sat in the bar area (take advantage of happy hour drink specials!) and the bartender never let our drinks (or bread!) get low. All on a Friday! Highly recommend!More
My first two wonderful experiences at Zaytinya were in 2010, 2011. It was exciting in every way with outstanding small plates, attentive service and excellent cocktails. We had dinner reservations on November 5. Again, excellent food. Our server could not have cared less whether we...were there or not. But I must address the very poor cocktails. I know a good Manhattan vs one made in a hurry by an inexperienced bar tender. I was served the latter. I could not put my finger on what made the difference...perhaps a different bourbon that I ordered or a cheap sweet vermouth? My husband's martini was equally poor. We did not send them back as we were going to the theater and the restaurant was very busy. I took a look at the bar on llm y way to the restroom. It was a zoo. Understandable why drinks may be of poor quality. I wonder how well trained all the bar tenders are? I deduced Zaytinya has now become a mecca for the young who would not know a good Manhattan or martini from a bad one.More
The place was packed on a Saturday night and the food and service was still excellent. Outside heaters kept the outside space adequately warm. Lots of interesting food choices; small plates allowed us to try different things.
My TA reviews are almost all 5 stars but can't do it for this one. I booked dinner here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was good but the staff and manager completely screwed up a special order -- even after I'd confirmed it...with the manager in writing beforehand AND also with the asst. manager when we arrived. BTW, on our way out I pointed out the problem to the asst. manager and he didn't seem to care.More
Rolled in for a later dinner (9:15) on a Sunday after work. Outstanding food, excellent Bekaa Valley wine, and a very cool atmosphere.
Can’t believe I waited this long to come here. It will become one of my go to spots in DC.
I have to say that as a food connoisseur I was deeply disappointed. I ordered the chicken shish taouk and have to say that the Sahara restaurant in Philly makes it one hundred percent tastier. The hummus and falafel were good. The zaatar flatbread was...awful. Not a place I recommend or would revisit. And I know my food.More

I think it is always best to check with the restaurant directly. They do have a wide range of choices so there are probably things they could recommend without modification and then you could also see how willing they are to accommodate outside that. It is a great experience so hopefully, they can meet your needs.
