We have a teenage exchange student from Germany. He said the food was pretty authentic. Our family enjoyed the food and the beer was good as well. Not too overly expensive, given you are eating in DC. We walked from the Supreme Court, so not too far.

I came to Cafe Berlin and was impressed with the outside patio area as it was beautifully decorated with lights. Had it not been cold, I would have ate outside. I liked the table cloth and the flicker of the faux candle on the table, but the host sat me in a dark corner. Perhaps it was foreshadowing. Nathan was... More

Nice short walk from where we are staying for a visit to Washington DC. Started with a 4 at the end of our meal and ordered desert to go (have not tried the desert yet). The food was deserving of a 4. The reason for a 2 is because the waiter took my card, Was gone for a very lengthy... More

We enjoyed drinks and fresh pretzel appetizers on the patio. The pretzels were great and there is a nice selection of drinks. I will return for dinner - the menu looked wonderful!!

Charming place. Get a table outside if possible. Food was fresh, inventive, and tasty. It's not cheap, but then this is an expensive neighborhood. We've been three times now. Ask for the nightly specials. Seems like they don't push them very hard, but they always seem to have one or two.

Searched TA for the best German restaurants in the DC area and Cafe Berlin was at the top. Did not disappoint at all. Seated immediately and started with a Dunkel weisse beer -- superb -- and a pinot gris. Great service. And the appetizer we ordered, potato pancakes and four German salads, were among the best German favorites we've ever... More

This restaurant was a great reproduction of an authentic German cafe. Great appetizers, entrees and draft beers.

We were there for lunch. The food was good, but portions and prices may be more appropriate for dinner.

The name Cafe Berlin tells you a lot and is in keeping with this nice German cafe near the capital. We were here during an unseasonably warm evening in February. It was nice enough that we were able to eat in the patio in front, which is itself a pleasant setting along Massachusetts Avenue. They have two menus, both with,... More
