There were so many choices on the menu that I wish I had discovered this restaurant earlier in the week. I chose a hot and sour soup and it was delicious. The choices on the preparation of the dishes were extensive from steamed, sauteed and fried. There is definitely something on the menu for everyone. I enjoyed listening to the... More

We had several dishes (and a Tsing Tao beer too)--I had a dish from their special saute items list--they're chicken dishes that are usually breaded and fried. These are only saute'd and are gluten-free. I had the orange chicken with asparagus. It usually comes with broccoli, but as I'm allergic to it, they just replace it with tons of asparagus.... More

We had this for dinner one night on our trip to DC it was within walking distance from our hotel so we stopped in and put in an order to go on our way back from the metro. We ordered chicken lo mein and the portion was large enough for my husband and I to split and both be satisfied.... More

Many years ago when I visited Washington, D.C. for either business of just to stay with friends, dinner at the fairly new City Lights of China was a must. But then for some reason it fell out of favor until recently where it is again a famed and much visited Chinese restaurant. City Lights of China is now in its... More

This was a great little find while working in DC. It's a small place and doesn't look like much from the outside.....but it's worth going in. The staff are friendly, and the food is tasty. The portion sizes are large! I normally don't leave anything on my plate......but I couldn't finish everything I was served here!! Very good place for... More

CLoC has consistently delivered extremely flavourful - and light - dishes since I was introduced by a city resident family member and has now become one of my "trusted providers" in town. Special mentions for the eggplant, sesame chicken and of course the steamed dumplings. I can see myself being a regular for many more years, as should you...

excellent dumplings with chives and pork stuffing and dipping sauce; good shrimp and vegetable tempura; soups are all good, especially hot and sour, spinach and won ton; excellent ma po tofu (if you like spicy, ask for extra spicy); great eggplant; if you don't like it too sweet, ask for basil or black bean sauce

I was peer pressured into visiting this restaurant a week ago. I don't eat much Asian food so I was reluctant to go. But the food was super delicious! I had the vegetable lo-mein and some dumplings. All very good. The server was very fast and kind to us. Don't be weird out by the outside look, the place inside... More

Staying near Washington Hilton, we were looking for a restaurant near DuPont Circle and stumbled over this gem. My 15 year old son had decided Chinese was the way to go and wanted crispy Peking duck with pancakes which was on the menu. We were seated immediately by our very friendly waiter. I asked what the house speciality was and... More

We were staying at the Normandy Hotel and looking for a casual evening with reliable food. While the menu is pretty standard, everything tasted very freshly made and was served quickly. We also loved that it was a basement restaurant. The staff was also super friendly.
