Apparently the chef was pleased we could discuss in french. We started with a delicious sweet potatoe soup, followed by “riz de veau“ a la maniere du chef, with a delicious sonoma red wine

Made a reservation and arrived on time. We were seated immediately toward the very back of the restaurant which proved to be quieter than other areas. Tables are close together and the next door businessmen were intrusive--but only temporarily. The waiter was cordial and helpful....More

Pronounced 'la show me air', La Chaumière is as close as it gets to dining in a French country "inn". The unpretentious atmosphere enhanced by the central stone fireplace, wood beams and stucco walls offers a rustic and romantic escape from city life.
