A vegetarian, a vegan, and a carnivore were looking for a place for lunch :) .... and we found just the spot! Stopped at Teaism for lunch with my sister and daughter (on her lunch hour) . It's order/pickup at front and find a table, so I wasn't expecting anything special. We ordered beet/goat cheese appetizer, udong soup, Indian curry,... More

Hi Fran - we aim to please! I'm so glad you enjoyed your lunch at Teaism. We call that location the suits and stockings Teaism because the market there is a little fancier than our funky dupont circle location or penn quarter locations. Taking care of our vegan and vegetarian - as well as gluten-free friends is very important to... More

A nice, bright spot for a respite from White House area "touristing". We had the salmon bento box, which was very nice. Outdoor seating was a nice option, though too hot and humid when we visited.

I visted inthe afternoon and there was plenty of seating. There's a wide variety of tea available by the pot, and the cashier was very patient as we made up our minds. The salty oatmeal cookies are also terrific!

The atmosphere is very bright and happy. I had iced tea and a small cake and it was wonderful. It was loud in there, but very pretty.

I visit DC about once a year. For the last 12 years or so, Teaism has been one of the "must visit"spots. Never was disappointed until last week. I stopped at the Lafayette Park location after taking two yoga class close by. I was starving and really looking forward to my visit. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich. When I... More

Hi - I'm so sorry that you were disappointed with the salmon sandwich. I hope you will give us another chance. I've looked into the salmon to make sure they are portioning it properly for the sandwich and talked over your other issues with the manager there. We really hope you will keep Teaism on your list of favorites. More

When you sit outside, you can look at Lafayette park and imagine all that is going on at the White House on the other side. Teaism has a magnificent assortment of teas and some good food, especially the bento boxes. But the reason to visit is the baked goods, especially the ginger scones and the legendary and never-replicated salty oat... More

I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to Teaism Lafayette Park and the salty oat cookies. We actually had a pretty famous visitor a few months back who bought a six pack of the cookies to share with his two daughters - I'm not naming names but he's a pretty important guy around here and he lives in a big... The food is very good, a lively atmosphere is present. But it is a bit expensive as be expected in this area of town. Would recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to review - we know that for a restaurant without service, Teaism is a bit more expensive than other options - but we cook from scratch and use the very best ingredients we can find - working hard to be sustainable, local, gmo-free. We think Teaism is a value and we hope you do too! More

I remember breakfast at Teaism being more exciting than it was on this recent visit. They have a very limited food menu, but the reason to go of course is for the tea (which is great). I had the homemade granola with the Moroccan mint tea - both were delicious.

The bento boxes are phenomenal. When I'm in DC, Teaism is a must. They never disappoint! The chicken bento was excellent.

Not really a fan of the cafeteria style setup, but the food was decent. Service was friendly, and the vegetarian udon was impressively loaded with veggies! Would have preferred them a bit smaller, though.
