Intrigued by unusual cooking style (molecular), unusual set up for an American (counter only), and the huge personality that is Jose Andres (kudos to Jose for standing up for the rights of little guys), I had to try Minibar while visiting DC. I had a little trepidation that this place would be gimmicky, superficial or overpriced. Thankfully, it was none... More

This was such a nice surprise and a womderful dining experience. We've been to so called hip restaurants all over the world but this was something entirely different. First of all, the kitchen is open right in front of you. There are only 12 seatings. 6 on each side. There were more chefs than the diners preparing right in front... More

Expensive, fun. innovative, whacky... this restaurant has it all. We loved it the second time round even more than the first. Can't say enough about the food and service. This is not for the faint of heart or people who want steak and potatoes. Minibar is WAY too good for them!

Everything in this restaurant is outstanding: the concept (a group of up to 6 people is eating together, sitting at a bar while the kitchen team is preparing and serving an amazing amount of courses), the service and the ambiance. Although a costly restaurant, the dinner is worth it!

Staff and service are excellent and food is certainly creative. However for $1,300 for two people it was a big let down for us. Starts off in a very nice room with Cava (really?) and you're eventually sat at an extremely upscale Teppanyaki like bar with four other people. No doubting the quality of the food or the competence and... More

There's almost no way to articulate how fantastic our experience at the Minibar was. Jose Andres has taken "dining" to a whole new level. We are "foodies" and love great food, including great restaurants in every town we visit. This was a very special event. Because of what we'd been told, we flew down from Boston just for this dinner.... More

My husband and I are foodies and he used my recent birthday as the perfect opportunity to visit one of DC's newly minted Michelin 2-star restaurants - minibar. We'd already enjoyed several other Jose Andres restaurants but minibar is not simply dinner - it's a true experience. From the moment we arrived, with a playful welcome and riddle at the... More

This is my second visit to minibar. My first visit was before their renovation. It's a much different experience now. My friend and I had an early reservation. When we came in we were given a glass of sparkling wine. We were eventually taken into the next room and seated. There were four other people who started dinner at the... More

TripAdvisor keeps prompting me about restaurant reviews "Is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant" and it made me realize that I need to go and review the actual #1 best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Minibar is the sort of place you go to for a very special occasion. My brother and... More

My husband's parents treated us to dinner at Minibar and it was OUTSTANDING. The meal was delicious, the service was impeccable and theatrical, and the eating was adventurous. No wonder they earned 2 stars!
