This is a close to Santo Domingo flavor as it gets, if you have had the chance to adventure off into the non tourist areas of the DR. The rice is so flavorful that chewing is almost dishonorable....chew slowly. The fish, chicken, flan, etc. etc. etc...and enjoy!!

If you want real, authentic Caribbean food, this is the place to get it. This family owned and operated restaurant has been a longtime fixture in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington DC. The food is "home made" and delicious with a variety of offerings every day. They make an authentic "mofongo" that's as good as you would find in... More

I love to look over the offerings as only cafeterias make possible, so I enjoyed my substantial lunch. I like Latin food, appreciate the offerings with vegetables and fish option. Friendly staff, cheap prices, horchata drink and coconut candies also offered. I parked in the underground garage in the Target shopping mall next door. Ample seating, a bit tight but... More

We traveled from Maine to DC to enjoy a little warmth and we found on our first night at Los Hermanos! We knew nothing about Salvadoran food and were greeted warmly and patiently. It was all really good and plenty for three of us to split two meals. We're going back for the goat and the pig's feet!

Los Hermanos, a rather unassuming spot in Columbia Heights, NW, has won me over with something as low key as the red beans and then the mofongo sealed the deal. The food I've had was on point and hit the exact gastronomical spot necessary to make this Foodie happy. In addition, the brothers are extremely hospitable, patiently answered all my... More

This Dominican restaurant is not much to look at, but the brothers serve good, solid food. I like their pulled pork and the mashed plantain (mangu). The food is on a steam table and you look the choices over and make your picks. You can also get a huge brunch dish, I think it is called mofongo, which has a... More

What a great spot! I was just here for Sunday lunch as part of a group of 10 of us - we choose a different spot to try every month and had seen Los Hermanos reviewed in the Washington Post. Everyone loved the food and also the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. This is a well run restaurant where... More
