So the neighbourhood is a little interesting, but it's worth the trip from central DC to go here. The ramen is out of this world, and the little dumplings are divine! It's a small place so either get there early or be prepared to wait....More

I know I am supposed to be hip and cool and think the atmosphere of the restaurant lends to a “vibe” but I must not be that hip and cool. I can accept the cramped seating, although stools with backs wouldn’t take up more room...More

The ramen is stellar and the atmosphere is funky and unique. I feel as if I’m in a different city when we dine here- in a good way!

The minute we decided to make DC the venue for our family vacation, my son (a 17 year old culinary student with an interest in Asian culture) started researching restaurants to try. In his mind...we HAD to try Toki Underground. I agreed...though I wasn’t as...More

You better go to Toki at lunch time ,because during the evening you will have to wait for a long time. The restaurant is very small and seems transplanted direct from Japan. I loved the food: the very crispy fried chicken, the coliflower. You prepare...More

We make sure when ever we hit DC to go to Toki. The ramen is fantastic. lines and wait can be long sometimes but we feel its well worth it. Try getting there a bit early before a rush and you may not have such...More

We got a couple things. As a ramen aficionado I was pleasantly surprised. Wasn’t the BEST ramen I’ve ever had but definitely still had complex and interesting flavours. We ordered the pork dumplings which were a 3/5. They needed to be stuffed a little more...More

Excellent food and service , the place it’s a little crowded but okay. Best ramen in town. The stools are uncomfortable.

This place is in a pretty shady/trashy part of DC. The ramen was pretty good, but nothing spectacular and the service was good. The stools are uncomfortable and the place is loud and kind of seemed kind of dirty.

Ramen noodles are made with wheat flour. Soba noodles are made with buckwheat (gluten free) and wheat. You will have to contact the restaurant and see if they have soba noodles made just with buckwheat.
