Wok and Roll has a great menu - something for everyone. Really fun and creative sushi (I love the salmon carpaccio spicy!), and there's a large menu for those who prefer cooked items. We've been a few times even though it's a bit of a walk for us and we have closer sushi restaurants to where we live. Great place.

I was so ready to like this place for its history and my favorite food--sushi! But unfortunately the rice was dry and the rolls fell apart. Worse than that, some of the slices of sashimi on my chirashi were flakey, which is never a good look or texture for fish. Won't be back.

We were impressed with how great everything was! The egg roll appetizer was 2 huge hand-rolled egg rolls. The spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon avocado crunchy roll were amazing and extremely filling. The General Tso's chicken entree was enormous and soooo tasty! We couldn't finish all of our food!

Food was average but the service was good and our whole family had a nice time. However the real reason we sought this place out was historic, as it is the boarding house owned and operated by Mary Surratt and the company of conspirators who sought to kill President Lincoln, Vice President Johnson and Secretary of State Stanton in a... Restaurant a block away from the Chinese arch and the Metro Station. Food was good and plenty but a little bit expensive. Surprisingly dishes come with white rice only (no substitutions), so to have fried rice it must be ordered as a separate dish at $9.00 but it was very good. Service was good.

I am not sure if this is the Wok and Roll Japanese restaurant, but the sushi is really good and extremely fresh. I did not get a chance to try the sake, but if you like sushi, a trip to this restaurant is well worth it.

Let's just say our expectations were a bit higher than the actual experience, considering we were in "Chinatown" -- just average Chinese food, not much different from a take-out order at a mall food court. Prices were reasonable for Washington fare, though, and the portions were generous...we easily could have shared an entree. The karaoke section was advertised, but we... More
