Stopped in for lunch with family. The brunch menu was still available. You must order the handmade tator tots. Just delicious! We also had the French toast awesome covered in blueberry sauce and blueberries, with just enough fresh whipped cream. Wedge salad big and refreshing. Crab omelet very good. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. If we are back... More

I'll start by saying we were staying across the street on a Saturday and wanted lunch for two adults, a ten and seven year old. Great menu but ramps up quickly for things that are standardly priced elsewhere. For example, the wedge salad my wife and I ordered start at 12, but an upgrade of 3 shrimp was an extra... More

Had lunch here. Had scoped out the lobster roll in advance, and wanted to try. Sat at bar and had a glass of wine, and ordered the crab cake appetizer. Crab meat was nice, but the cake was just a bit on the salty side. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up. Had the lobster roll for the entree.... More

Try the Shepard's Pie and save some room for bread pudding. If you want to try an appetizer, I suggestion the oysters. Service was good and quick. Clean restrooms.

Located in the heart of DC, one can only imagine the powerful people who dined at this place and discussed the politics of the day. The food and service were good; the server was equally friendly.

We were extremely disappointed in this restaurant. The server was friendly and the service was fine but the food had no taste. It's very expensive and the only thing that was tolerable was the organic turkey burger. The tater tots were tasteless. The mac and cheese was horrible and so was the grilled chicken. For such an expensive restaurant their... More

This is a DC outpost of a NY restaurant. In becoming a chain it now caters to large tourist crowds and lost its heart. Reliable good food, okay service, just not fantastic.

There seem to be very few casual dining opportunities in Washington - this one is very good. Casual atmosphere with good service and a varied menu.

K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon.
In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. Seasoned bartenders make favorite classic cocktails the right way; dexterous shuckers ply the freshest shellfish at a marble topped Raw Bar; and the old-school, convivial dining room welcomes government A-listers, students and their families and visitors to our capitol.
