My sister and I ate here while waiting on our hotel room to be ready. The menu needs to be updated because they had things on it that were no longer available. All in all it was pretty good.

What happened to the Delicious Grilled Asparagus?? I cannot believe someone would decide to remove the best side dish imaginable, Grilled Asparagus! We'd order P. J. Clarkes for lunch at the job and everyone always HAD to have the Grilled Asparagus! There's nothing like the...More

I was hungry and needed a bite. Ventured and sat at the bar. Friendly service and good food. That's exactly what i was looking for. My steak was cooked to perfection.

Dinner here was good but not spectacular. There is something for everyone. The children’s menu could have better options rather than the usual chicken tenders. The amount of fries and vegetable sides are abundant. The portions of all proteins were also abundant. The taste of...More

Went there for dinner. The staff was friendly and the service was good. We liked the atmosphere of the place. The lighting was dimmed and it had a kind of old fashioned toughness to it. The food was good. I was especially pleased to see...More

Both had a different steaks from the menu, both cooked perfectly. Good size portions and fairly priced. Great spot out the front on kerbside, and served by a really nice lady, who helped recommend a decent drink. The whiskey sour was made well too! Good...More

They have a special room you might ask about. In my view they could accommodate your group. Check the web for the prices. I thought they were reasonable.

Description
K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon.
In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. Seasoned bartenders make favorite classic cocktails the right way; dexterous shuckers ply the freshest shellfish at a marble topped Raw Bar; and the old-school, convivial dining room welcomes government A-listers, students and their families and visitors to our capitol.
